Hello everyone!

2016 seems to have went by SO quickly. As the past 12 months have went by I have been making a note of all of the beauty products and other random things that have really stood out for me this year. I did a 2015 favourites at the end of 2015 which consisted of only beauty products, but this year I'm including a little bit of everything! I am going to start off this post by listing all of my makeup favourites from last year, all of which I am still loving, and then we can get straight in to this years favourites!

Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass Eye Shadow Palette:
This year I have been experimenting with different eye looks. I used to stick to very simple neutral eye makeup, but now I love using crazy colours to create looks that I never dreamt I would be creating this time last year! I would say that this Urban Decay palette has been a game changer in my makeup collection, I definitely couldn't imagine not owning this palette now that I have it! In May when the Alice Through The Looking Glass collection was released, I definitely wasn't planning on buying this palette. However, when I saw it in House Of Fraser I just had to have it. As with all UD eye shadows, all of the shades in this palette are amazingly pigmented and last really well on the eyes. Unfortunately this palette is no longer available to buy as it was a limited edition collection. I also want you to take a moment to appreciate how stunning the packaging is!

Real Techniques Sculpting Brush:
I own my fair share of Real Techniques brushes as the quality is always amazing, and this Sculpting Brush is definitely no exception to that. I like to use this for buffing out my contour. I apply a harsh line of my contour shade with a smaller brush and then I like to buff it out using this sculpting brush, and it just creates a flawless and airbrushed looking contour.

MAC Warm Neutrals Eye Shadow Palette:
I have been obsessed with this eye shadow palette since Christmas Day of 2015. I didn't feature it in my 2015 favourites because I felt like I hadn't used it for long enough to include it in my yearly favourites post. Throughout the past year I have been loving this palette and have been reaching for it a lot of the time, I even created a gorgeous bronze eye shadow look using the palette which I also did a blog post about too. When I don't really know what to do with my eye makeup, I reach for this palette as I know that I can create a really pretty neutral eye with it. There is not a shade in this palette which I don't like!

Studio 10 Colour Correcting Concealer Palette:
I was sent some products from Studio 10 around July to review on my blog (post here) and one of the products that has really stood out for me ever since that review is the concealer palette. This palette contains 4 different concealer shades as well as a primer. I haven't really used much of the primer but I love the concealers, the green shade in particular. I did a whole post explaining colour correcting concealers so I won't really go into too much depth, but the green shade corrects redness and the salmon shade is really great for correcting dark circles under the eyes. There are also two 'natural' concealer shades in the palette, I get a lot of use from the lighter shade as I am on the paler side.

NYX Full Coverage Concealer Jar:
Another concealer product that I have been loving this year is from NYX. I really love NYX as a brand as their products are really high quality, although they are on the pricier side for drugstore products. I prefer concealers on the thicker side, like this one, as they offer a really great high coverage. I use this under my eyes as well as on any blemishes that need that little bit extra coverage. If you are going to use this under the eyes then a lot of blending is required as creasing is very likely, this should not be a problem though as once it's all blended out it really is a great concealer.

NYX HD Studio Finishing Powder:
Another NYX product that I have been loving this year is the HD Loose Finishing Powder. This powder is great as it blurs out the skin giving it a flawless HD effect. The application itself is a little bit on the messier side as it is a loose powder. This is a little bit of a problem as it means that a lot of product can get wasted, but it isn't as expensive as the Laura Mercier loose setting powder so I don't feel as guilty when using it.

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray:
Yet again, another NYX product that I have been using on the daily for the past 7 or 8 months is the Matte Finish Setting Spray. I actually need to repurchase this as I have used up another bottle of this. I love this setting spray as I find that it really does make a difference in the longevity of my makeup. I am so glad that I found this little gem as it is an essential in my makeup bag. I have been loving another setting spray, which I am going to talk about next, but I definitely prefer this one. You can also buy a dewy finish version of this spray, which I haven't tried yet, but I am sure it is just as good as the matte spray.

L'Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist:
The other setting spray that I have been using, and loving, this year is the L'Oreal Infallible. I love all of the products from the Infallible range and this setting spray is no exception. As with the NYX setting spray, I definitely notice that this product really increases the longevity of my makeup. But, the NYX spray helps keep the skin matte whereas this one doesn't. If you spray this too close to the skin then it does leave white dots which can be quite annoying, so be careful when spraying on the face and try to hold the bottle about 20cm away so that it doesn't leave any residue on the skin.

Rimmel Volume Colourist Mascara:
It is no surprise that I am also including the Rimmel Volume Colourist mascara in this post. I have been obsessed with this mascara since the end of March when I featured it in my huge drugstore haul. My favourite mascaras all come from Rimmel, so I knew that I would love this as soon as I picked it up. It gives a lot of volume to the lashes as well as length. It doesn't clump or flake, which is really great too. If you have eye lashes which are on the fairer side then it also works to gradually tint the lashes.

L'Oreal Infallible Sculpt Contour Palette:
At the beginning of the year I was on the hunt for the perfect cream contour palette. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried out the L'Oreal Infallible Sculpt Palette for the first time, and I have been a huge fan ever since. This is a cream to powder product, so it has the finish of a powder but the lasting power of a cream. I am not a fan of the highlight shade as I like something with a lot of sheen to it, but the darker contour shade is really good and therefore it is still worth the money just for that. I believe that in America there is a powder version, so I would really like to try that version out too!

Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit:
There is also another contour kit that I have been loving this year, the Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit. Just like the L'Oreal palette, I am not a huge fan of the highlight shade. But, the contour shade and bronzer is really good. The bronze shade is very warmed toned and great for warming up the face, whereas the contour shade is cool toned. Both powders do not look cakey on the skin and apply evenly and smoothly. I also find that they blend out really easily; just like the L'Oreal Contour Palette.

NYX Tinted Brow Mascara:
When it comes to eye brows, I don't really use a lot of product as mine are already very full and dark. I do like to brush through my brows with a tinted brow mascara or gel though. I have tried 4 or 5 different tinted brow mascaras, but the NYX one is definitely my favourite. It doesn't make the brows crispy or hard like some other brow gels tend to do. This is probably the only brow product that I will ever go back to using, you can't go wrong with it!

Soap & Glory Peach Party Blush:
I have had this S&G blush for a long time now, but I haven't really talked about it on my blog that much. I love a good peach blush and this one is absolutely stunning, with lots of shimmer and glitter running through it. I did feature this blush in my 'Top 5 Blushers' blog post which was published at the beginning of February, so that really does show how long I have been a an of this blusher for. I love that this has lots of different shades in the blusher, so you can either use one single shade from this blusher, or you can sweep your brush around all of the shades to create a really peachy shimmery blush.

Smashbox #ShapeMatters Palette:
I got this palette for Christmas 2015 and I'm sure you all know how much I love this palette because I have done a post dedicated to it at the very end of 2015! I have talked about this palette before in many posts so I am sure you all know about this palette. But if you don't know about the palette then you get 2 eye brow powders, 1 eye brow wax, 1 contour shade, 1 bronzer, 1 highlight, 1 powder and 9 gorgeous eye shadows. This palette is perfect for travel as it includes everything you need for your eyes, face and brows; minus foundation, mascara and a lip colour. I have nearly ran out of the contour shade, which I am devastated about, so I really want to find something similar to it. The highlighter is really pretty and I love how the shimmer in it catches the light. My favourite eye shadow shades are Champagne, Stripped, Posh and Aubergine. The shadows blend out really easily and are really creamy too.

Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits in Dolce K and Candy K & Lip Gloss in Literally:
2016 has been the year of Kylie Cosmetics. Kylie Jenner has brought out so many amazing products over the past year, and I am lucky enough to have two lip kits and two lip glosses (both in the same shade). I am sure that I will continue to purchase from Kylie Cosmetics over the next year, and I can't wait to see what other products she will bring out next. Both of my lip kits and glosses are essentials in my makeup collection and I use all three on a very regular basis. I don't want to go on about these too much as I have done a full blog post dedicated to Kylie Cosmetics, so if you want to find out more then click here

Makeup Revolution Highlighter Palette:
Highlight is something that I have really been getting into during the past year or so. I have been loving the MUR highlighter palette which contains three different highlight shades; a cream shade, rose shade and lavender shade. All three shades give a gorgeous sheen to the skin and look gorgeous when reflecting the sunlight. These blend out amazingly and my highlight lasts all day without fading at all.

NYX Lip Lingerie in Ruffle Trim:
2016 was one of the best years for new beauty launches and new makeup counters; one of which was NYX. Beauty bloggers across the country went crazy when it was announced that NYX Cosmetics stands would be coming to Boots stores across the country, and I was ecstatic too! I had wanted to try NYX products for a very long time so I obviously hit the NYX counter when they came to my local Boots store. I have featured a few other NYX products in this post already which I really love, and this liquid lipstick is no exception. There have been some amazing liquid lipsticks releases this year and the NYX Lip Lingerie's have been one of my favourites. The shade Ruffle Trim is a gorgeous dark peachy nude shade.

MAC Lip Liner in Etcetera:
I got this lip liner in January and it is the perfect nude shade for everyday wear. Some lip liners tend to be quite drying on the lips and cause them to appear cracked, but this lip liner is surprisingly not drying at all. The formula is very creamy so it glides on the lips really easily too. I love wearing this liner under nude lipsticks, but I also wear it on its own sometimes too.

GOSH Lip Oil in 003 Rose:
I never really thought that I would be a fan of lip oils as I only really like matte lips, and I'm not a big fan of a glossy or shiny lip look. However, I was completely transformed when I was sent the GOSH Lip Oil a few months ago. The shade is a very pretty shade which gives a slight tint to the lips. It is also really moisturising on the lips, so it is perfect for when my lips are feeling extra dry and dehydrated. This product is really great because it is not sticky on the lips and has lots of moisturising benefits too.

GOSH Matt Lipstick in Antique:
I have had this lipstick for a very long time now, almost two years, and it still features regularly in my makeup routine. You all know that I only really wear matte lipsticks, and this has got to be one of my favourites. As with all matte lipsticks, you do need to exfoliate and moisturise the lips before application. Once I have prepared my lips for this lipstick it doesn't cling to any dry patches and lasts really well on the lips.

B. Cosmetics Fan Brush:
For the first 6 or 7 months of 2016 I was on the hunt for a good quality fan brush that wouldn't break the bank. Whilst I was shopping in Superdrug I was browsing the makeup brushes when I came across the B. Cosmetics Fan Brush. I had tried some of their brushes before and they didn't seem to disappoint, so I bought it. I have been using this brush everyday since to apply highlight. It's extremely easy to use and applies just the right amount of product.

Real Techniques Bold Metals 201 Pointed Crease Brush:
As you all know, I love a good Real Techniques brush. I have been wanting to finish off my collection for a little while now, so I picked up one of the Bold Metals brushes. This brush in particular is absolutely amazing, the bristles are extremely soft, and it's great for blending my transition shade into the crease of my eye. I would definitely recommend you give this brush a try if you haven't already!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge:
If you asked me five month ago I would have said that I would never use anything else to apply my foundation with other than the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. But, I have been completely converted to a sponge! I honestly never thought that I would ever say that in my whole entire life. I am absolutely in love with this sponge as it applies my foundation evenly. I love using it wet as it gives a dewy natural finish to my foundation, but you can also use it dry for a very full coverage look.

Regis Olive Oil Shampoo and Conditioner:
I like to take care of my hair and my favourite shampoo and conditioner brand is Regis. I get my hair cut at a Regis salon and they use the same shampoo and conditioner on my hair when they wash it. These products, paired together, leave my hair feeling as if I've just left the salon.

AJ Morgan Sunglasses:
We have had a little bit of sunny weather this year in the UK and I bought a new pair of sunglasses. I honestly wish I could wear these every single day because I love the design of them! I bought my sunglasses from ASOS and they were really cheap so I suggest you check out ASOS if you are looking for a pair of good quality sunglasses.

River Island Heeled Boots:
I have had these heeled boots since April and they are actually really comfortable. I wear these all the time as they pair really nicely with jeans or a dress. They are black suede so they go with everything and I am sure that I will get a lot more wear from these in the next coming years.

Puma Trainers:
I was looking for some comfortable trainers that can be worn with jeans or leggings when I came across these ones from Puma a good few months ago. I love that these are grey and purple suede and they pair nicely with a lot of different outfits. They are suede so they do tend to get dirty easily, but I have a suede cleaning kit that does the job nicely.

ASOS Black Cold Shoulder Shirt:
I bought this off the shoulder shirt at the end of July as cold shoulder shirts had came into fashion. Although it is made from quite a thin material, I have been wearing this throughout Winter as well as Summer. I like to layer my clothes so it isn't a problem that this shirt is on the thinner side. I think it looks really great with jeans and either my bomber jacket or drape coat.

River Island Khaki Bomber Jacket:
Bomber jackets have been in trend this year, so of course I had to get one too! I got a khaki green one from River Island, which I have practically lived in over the past 7 or 8 months. I think that bomber jackets are really great as they can be dressed up or down, and they can be worn in every season too.

River Island Camel Drape Coat:
It gets very cold in the UK during the Winter time so I bought a new coat in August from ASOS. I absolutely love this coat and I have got so much use from it over the past 4 months. The camel shade goes well with a lot of different clothes, and it looks very smart too. The coat is quite heavy but it keeps me really warm in the colder months. It isn't waterproof so this can be a bit of a problem as we do get quite a bit of rain here in the UK, but I am quite happy taking an umbrella out with me too. When I bought the coat it was in the sale, reduced from £85 to £55; so it was an absolute bargain.

River Island Gold Glitter Boots:
I have also been loving these boots from River Island. I have only had them for about 3 months, but I still wanted to give them a mention. They are very glittery and glam, and I would wear them everyday if I could! I wore these on Christmas day because I felt that all the glitter was very fitting for the occasion. River Island is my go to place for buying shoes because they are always really comfortable and they last really well too.

Anna Saccone Capricorn Necklace:
I actually nearly forgot to include this necklace in here. I have had it all year, but it feels like so much longer! I wear this necklace all of the time and I absolutely love it. I got the silver version because all of my other jewellery is silver, and so I wanted to be able to wear it with those. I did write a full blog post on the necklace so you can check that out here if you wish.

Primark Blanket:
In August I was browsing the Primark Home section when I spotted this lovely blanket. It cost my £5, so it definitely didn't break the bank either! It is on the lighter side for a blanket, but I think that it adds a really nice touch to my bedroom d├ęcor. The design is grey, blue and orange triangles and I think that it looks lovely! I have also been using it as a background for my blog photos, so it's a 2 in 1 product really:)

MUJI Acrylic Drawers:

At the beginning of the year I re organised my makeup collection and purchased a set of acrylic drawers from MUJI. I store the majority of my lipsticks in these drawers and I think that they look really nice on top of my dressing table. I have had them since the very beginning of the year and they have never failed me so far. I will be doing an updated makeup collection in the next few months as well, so stay tuned for that.

I hope that you enjoyed reading this post and I hope that it wasn't too boring for you, I know that this is the longest post I have ever written and I did ramble on a little bit! Let me know in the comments what products are in your 2016 favourites:)
