Zoeva Caramel Melange Palette | Review & Swatches

Hello everyone!

I finally did it! I finally bought my first Zoeva product! I have been wanting a Zoeva eye shadow palette for the longest time ever- if you go back to my many 'Wish Lists' then you can probably tell how long I have wanted a Zoeva palette for! I have no idea why it has took me so long to finally get one, but I am so excited to be sharing my thoughts on the Caramel Melange palette today.

As far as packaging goes, this palette is very sleek and slim which makes it very easy to store. I like the colour scheme of the packaging as I think the brown and gold compliment each other really nicely.

The palette contains 10 warm toned eye shadows and I actually couldn't be more obsessed with the shades, they're all very wearable and very pretty. I think that £18 is reasonable for 10 eye shadows, and especially when they look this good!

All of the shades in the palette are really pigmented and I have been creating lots of different looks with the shades so far. I am now going to share swatches of all of the shades as well as a brief description of them:)
BOTTOM TO TOP: Wax Paper, Universal Delight, Aftertaste, 182°C & Liquid Center

BOTTOM TO TOP: Alchemy, Start Soft, Finish Sensual, Almost Burnt & Edible Gem

TOP ROW:
  • Wax Paper- matte light beige
  • Universal Delight- warm matte light tan
  • Aftertaste- warm matte orange toned red
  • 182°C- warm light orange with gold shimmer
  • Liquid Center- warm metallic copper

BOTTOM ROW:
  • Alchemy- warm matte red toned brown
  • Start Soft- warm medium orange toned brown
  • Finish Sensual- warm cocoa brown
  • Almost Burnt- shimmery yellow gold
  • Edible Gem- matte dark purple with minimal gold shimmer
All in all, I am absolutely loving this palette at the moment. What do you think of it?!

2017 In Review

Hello everyone!

I know that we're already a month into 2018 but I had planned to do a '2017 In Review' blog post at the end of last year, and I've only just remembered about it now! I was just going to wait until 2018 was over and do a post for this year but I just couldn't stop thinking about it. So here we are, this is my 2017 in review:)

JANUARY
I celebrated my Birthday in January but I have recently got a new phone so the only photos that I can find at the moment are either selfies or cats. I thought I would share a nice picture of a cat, and yes- that is a blanket over the top of her:)

FEBRUARY
I seem to have hibernated during the month of February as I have no photos whatsoever from February...onto March!

MARCH
In March I went to two concerts in the space of 5 days; Olly Murs on the 6th and The Weeknd on the 11th. Both were absolutely brilliant.

APRIL
The month of April was when I visited Edinburgh, Scotland. I had visited previously but that was a very long time ago, so I really enjoyed exploring the zoo and also Harvey Nichols:)

MAY, JUNE & JULY
May, June and July were fairly quiet for me in terms of social events as I did spend those three months revising and sitting exams, how fun!

AUGUST
That means that August was spent celebrating all of the hard work I had put in over the previous three months. On the 5th August I jetted off to Fuerteventura for a week. A few weeks later I enjoyed a mocktail in TGI Fridays to celebrate my exam results.

SEPTEMBER
At the beginning of September I started a Healthcare college course as I want to eventually qualify as a midwife. Towards the end of September I got my nose pierced. I was very nervous before but there was absolutely no need to be as it wasn't too painful and I think it looks great. I am going to be doing a blog post on my piercings in the coming months so stay tuned for that:)

OCTOBER
Not a lot happened in October to be honest. One thing I did buy in October was a gorgeous Anastasia Beverly Hills highlighter kit, so I will include a picture of that here.

NOVEMBER
I seemed to have skipped November; there wasn't really anything major that happened in this month as I was busy preparing for the Christmas festivities.

DECEMBER
And finally, December! Just before Christmas I got another piercing, my rook, which was quite painful but totally worth it. And of course Christmas day came soon after where I was spoilt rotten and enjoyed all of the yummy festive food.

I hope you're all having a wonderful 2018 so far! What did you get up to in 2017?!

Top 10 Under £10

Hello everyone!

I absolutely love it when I can find amazing makeup products that are also affordable. Today I thought that I would share 10 of my favourite products from the drugstore, all of which are under £10 (well- at least 9 of them are haha!).

Milani Conceal & Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation & Concealer (£13.00):
I know that this is £13 and that the products in this post are supposed to be under £10, but technically if you purchased this in America it would be under £10. I really wanted to feature this foundation as Milani is a very popular drugstore brand in America and they have got a few products on Beauty Bay too. I desperately need to repurchase this foundation as it is absolutely amazing. The coverage is very high, which is EXACTLY what I like in a foundation, and it also lasts really well on my skin throughout the day. I highly highly recommend this if you're looking for an amazing drugstore foundation NEARLY under £10!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (£4.19):
This will be no surprise to you as this concealer is 100% one of the most talked about drugstore concealers. I go through this concealer like there's no tomorrow as I just can't get enough of it. It's really great for covering under eye circles and any discolouration, and it doesn't wear off throughout the day too. I love the fact that this is so affordable that if I ever run out I can easily just pop to my local Boots and repurchase another tube, which is something you can't say about a lot of other concealers.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (£3.99):
This one is also no shocker as it makes an appearance in my makeup routine pretty much everyday. I have been loving this powder for years now, ever since I started wearing makeup, and I just couldn't imagine my makeup routine without it. Again, just like the Collection concealer, this is so affordable and it's really hard to believe that it only costs £3.99!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate (£5.99):
The Maybelline Colour Tattoos have been a part of my makeup collection for a very long time now, and I still get a lot of use from this shade in particular. Metallic Pomegranate is the perfect shade for all over the lid. You can very easily blend this all over the lid and leave it just as it is, and it looks like you've spent ages on your eye makeup. There are so many lovely shades in this collection too so I definitely recommend you check them out if you're a fan of quick and easy eye makeup that's guaranteed to stay in place all day.

Sleek Face Form Trio (£9.99):
Coming in at just under £10 is the Sleek Face Form trio. I have no idea how long I have had this trio for, but it is definitely over 2 years old! I always take this on holiday with me because it is perfect for travelling- contour, highlight, blush and a full sized mirror all in one place. The contour shade is pretty standard in this palette but what I especially like is the highlight and blush shades. The highlighter is a gorgeous pearlescent shade which is packed full of shimmer, and the blusher is a lovely rose gold shade. The highlight adds a nice sheen to the cheekbones and the blush is the perfect pop of pink for the cheeks.

Makeup Revolution Iconic Lights & Contour Pro Palette (£8.00):
I love contour palettes which are really versatile and have a wide range of shades. This palette is such a bargain as it contains 8 different shades; 4 for contouring and 4 for highlighting. The formula is blendable and all of the shades look great on the skin. I love taking this travelling with me as it has every shade imaginable that you would need to perfectly contour and highlight your face.

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter in Peach Diamond (£3.00):
This is one of the cheapest items in this post and it's also one of my favourites- just look at that swatch! I have been using this highlighter non stop recently as it's absolutely blinding. It's hard to believe that this costs just £3 as it's amazingly pigmented and looks stunning on the cheekbones. I love the peach undertones that this highlighter has, and I also love the way it catches the light at every single angle. This is a makeup bag MUST HAVE!

Sleek Solstice Highlighter Palette (£9.99):
Another drugstore highlighting product which is one of my absolute favourites is this stunning Sleek palette. The packaging of this palette is rose gold which I think is so pretty and makes the palette look very luxurious. You get four lovely highlighting shades in this palette, one of which is a cream formula. I think that the swatches of this palette just show how pigmented and stunning these shades are.

GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick in Antique (£7.99):
I also have two lipsticks to share in this post, the first of which is from GOSH. I don't really use stick formula lipsticks all that much anymore as I do prefer a liquid lip, but I couldn't not include this as this was my holy grail lipstick a few months ago. You can clearly tell that this is very well loved and when you look at the gorgeous shade it is definitely no surprise why. I also like that this is a matte finish as that is the only type of lipstick that I seem to wear, and it isn't really drying like most matte lipsticks.

Nip + Fab Matte Liquid Lipstick in Toffee (£7.95):
My final under £10 favourite is the Nip + Fab Matte Liquid Lipstick in Toffee. Nip + Fab is a brand which is fairly new to my makeup collection although I have been really enjoying their makeup products recently. I own three of their liquid lipsticks but Toffee is my favourite shades. It's a classic nude shade which I wear on a daily basis and the performance is definitely up there with my Jeffree Star Cosmetics liquid lipsticks.

That is everything for my Top 10 products under £10. What are your favourite drugstore products?

Updated Makeup Collection | January 2018

Hello everyone!

I love sharing my updated makeup collection on my blog as it's really nice to look back and see how my collection has progressed over the months and years. I was planning on doing an updated collection at the end of 2017, but I wanted to wait until I had Christmas and my Birthday out of the way as I knew that I would be receiving lots of makeup on both occasions.

My dressing table has not changed since I did my very first makeup collection. I really like the one I have as it's very spacious and sturdy, so there's no need for me to buy another one just yet. The chair I have is the same as the one I had in my last makeup collection blog post, and I will link it at the end of this post if I can find it on the IKEA website.

On the left side of my dressing table I have a huge Dior Catwalk book which was very kindly sent to me by Thames & Hudson a few weeks ago. This book is too luxurious not to display, so I just had to incorporate it into my makeup setup. It includes 70 years worth of Dior catwalk outfits and it makes a really interesting read if you're into designer fashion. On top of the book I have my light up letter 'e' which did feature in my previous makeup collection. I think that this adds a lovely personalised touch to my room.

Just like the last two times, I have my main mirror in the very middle of my dressing table alongside my smaller makeup mirror which is tucked behind the larger one. I use this when doing my makeup as my eyesight is terrible so I need something that is a lot closer to me than my main mirror. It also lights up which is really useful too.

Finally, I have my MUJI acrylic drawers which I featured in my last makeup collection. These have served me well and are brilliant for storing smaller items like lipsticks and miniature perfumes. On the top of my drawers I have two perfumes; YSL Black Opium and Shawn Mendes Signature. These are both my go to perfumes at the moment, and the bottles are really nice so I obviously had to display them. Next to those I have my beloved Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass eye shadow palette and then on top I have all of my makeup brushes.

Inside the acrylic drawers I have quite a mix of items; from lipsticks to nail polishes and miniature perfumes. I don't have all of my lipsticks in these drawers, however, as some of them are in my dressing table (I will get on to those later!). Starting with the top drawer, I have my nude lip products in this drawer. I wear nude lip products pretty much everyday so it is very important that I have them in a place which is easy to access. I love a matte liquid lip and in this drawer I have a few from different brands such as NYX, Makeup Revolution, MUA and Nip + Fab. I also have some nude lipsticks from GOSH, KIKO and MUA, as well as some lip crayons from Soap & Glory, Rimmel and No7.

In the second drawer I have all of my bold lipsticks; berries, reds and everything in between. On the right hand side I have a liquid lip from Nip + Fab as well as three lip glosses from Rimmel. The Rimmel lip glosses are in three dark shades; blue, red and black. Next to those I have two GOSH lipsticks as well as a Soap & Glory lip crayon and Revlon liquid lipstick. I love those Soap & Glory lip crayons as they are really pigmented, apply to the lips evenly and last pretty well throughout the day. I then have two Jack Wills lip crayons and a Rimmel lip crayon. Finally, on the very far left I have a Makeup Revolution liquid lipstick and a gorgeous purple KIKO lip gloss. Also in this drawer, there is a L'Oreal lip palette which contains some lovely red lipstick shades. I haven't used the palette all that much but the shades are very pigmented. I then have two KIKO lipsticks and a NYX Lip Butter in the shade Red Velvet.

Beneath those are my pink lipsticks, which I don't really use all that often. I am not going to go into too much detail about this drawer as, like I mentioned, I don't really use the lipsticks in this drawer. I have a few lip crayons from Soap & Glory, Rimmel and Jack Wills, some Makeup Revolution lipsticks, two Revlon liquid lipstick and a couple of other random brands.

The two final drawers in this five drawer set don't contain lipsticks, but I will quickly go over them anyway. In the fourth drawer I have miniature perfumes. I like to keep these in here as I can easily take one out and throw it in my handbag, depending on which fragrance I want to use on a particular day. I have four Zoella miniature perfumes, two Kat Von D samples, a Shawn Mendes roller ball, three Zoella roller balls, two miniature Versace perfumes and a miniature YSL Black Opium. In the final drawer I store my nail polishes and lip balms. I don't really paint my nails that often so I don't have too many nail polishes. I have a GOSH nail oil as well as nail polishes from the following brands: No7, NYC, Barry M and Rimmel. I do have quite a lot of lip balms in this drawer as I am a lip balm junkie and I am always applying them to my lips. Some of my favourites include Carmex, LUSH and Korres.

Now I am going to get onto my dressing table drawers, starting with the top left one. In this drawer I have my base makeup products; primers, concealers, foundations and powders. I have everything separated into the same little baskets that I had in my last makeup collection, and I will link them (or similar ones) at the end of this post. At the back on the left hand side I have my foundations. I like to store them standing up so that I can easily see them all and choose a foundation dependant on the look I am going for. Some of my favourite foundations are the Kat Von D Lock It (I have the shades Light 42 Neutral and Light 44 Cool), Estee Lauder Double Wear, Rimmel Lasting Finish, LA Girl Pro Coverage HD and Milani Conceal & Perfect. To the right of my foundations I have my concealers. I only have one high end concealer, the Kat Von D Lock It, as I do find that drugstore ones work just as well. The Collection Lasting Perfection and LA Girl Pro Conceal are two of my very favourite drugstore concealers, the coverage on both of them is amazing! In the front of my drawer I have my powders and primers. As you can probably tell, I am a big fan of the Rimmel Stay Matte powder. The powder works wonders as it mattifies the skin amazingly well. I also have some loose powders from Kat Von D, Makeup Revolution, RCMA and NYX. The final basket in this draw includes primers from B. Cosmetics, LA Girl, Rimmel, Benefit and L'Oreal.

Underneath my base makeup drawer I store all of my eye shadow palettes as well as my single shadows and cream shadows. In the basket I have all of my individual shadows as well as the Morphe 25A Copper Spice Palette as it doesn't fit with the rest of my eye shadow palettes. I am not going to go through all of the products in the basket but I do want to mention that I love the Maybelline Colour Tattoos and Kylie Cosmetics Cream Shadow, I also absolutely love MAC's All That Glitters and Satin Taupe. I then have my eye shadow palettes next to the basket. I love a good eye shadow palette, so that explains why I have quite a few! At the very back of the drawer I have two Collection eye shadow palettes along with some MUA palettes and a Sleek palette. I then have a Nip + Fab palette in the shade Sculpted, which is a new addition to my collection. With that palette  I also have a NYX custom palette, which only has three shades in at the moment, the gorgeous Kylie Cosmetics Burgundy Palette and a custom MAC quad. I store all of my bigger palettes directly next to my individual shadows. I have the MAC Warm Neutrals palette (AKA one of my HOLY GRAIL eye shadow palettes!), a few Makeup Revolution palettes, the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette and three Urban Decay Naked palettes.

The top right drawer in my dressing table contains my mascaras and contour products. I have quite a few mascaras but I often find myself reaching for the same few each time. Some of my favourite mascaras at the moment are the Benefit Roller Lash, Rimmel ScandalEyes, Benefit Bad Gal and an ELF mascara. The larger basket of the two contains all of my contour products; individuals and palettes. I love trying out new contour products so I do have a fair few in the basket. I have larger contour palettes stacked up at one side of the basket and then smaller ones at the other side. On the left hand side I have products such as the Benefit Hoola, Maybelline Master Sculpt, a Korres blush which is more of a contour shade and a MUA contour duo. Some of my larger contour products consist of the Smashbox Shape Matters Palette, Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit, Nip + Fab Contour Palette and Kat Von D Shade & Light Palette. I also have some smaller compacts (Seventeen, Sleek, L'Oreal and Barry M) which I only really use when I go travelling as they don't take up too much space.

Underneath that drawer I have my highlighters, setting sprays and brow gels. This is a weird mix of products but these are some of the last products which I apply to my face, so I thought that it would be useful to store them together. I am trying to build up my highlighter collection as I love a good highlight but I don't really have all too many at the minute. My highlighter collection includes the Anastasia Beverly Hills Aurora Glow Kit, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, Makeup Geek Highlighter in Midnight Sun and The Balm Mary Lou. In a small little container I have a couple of little brow gels. I don't really do too much to my brows, apart from apply brow gel to them, so that it why I don't have more brow products. Finally, I just have two setting sprays lying around in the drawer.

The last drawer in my makeup collection contains two lipstick holders, blushers, eye liners and lip liners. Again this is quite a random mix but I couldn't fit all of the products together that I wanted together, so I just put them in this drawer instead. I have my blushers in here as I don't really wear blusher all too often, but I do want to change that and start wearing it again. When I do wear blusher I like to use my Nip + Fab blusher palette in the shade Blushed, Benefit Rockateur or MAC Well Dressed. I have my eye liners and lip liners in the same slim container as they, again, don't get used that much but I still wanted to keep them in case I ever need them. The Kat Von D Tattoo Liner and MAC lip liners are two of my favourite products from this section. Finally, I have two lipstick holders. I did originally have these on top of my MUJI drawers but I moved them because they got really dusty and it is really fiddly to clean each individual compartment. I have all of my MAC and Makeup Geek lipsticks in the holders, as there is quite a few of them, along with three Jeffree Star Cosmetics liquid lipsticks, two Kat Von D mini liquid lipsticks and some Kylie Cosmetics liquid lipsticks.

I hope that you enjoyed taking a look into my makeup collection. I know this was a long post so well done if you managed to read all the way to the end!
