The Balm Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter | Swatch & Review

Hello everyone!

I feel like this blog post has been very long awaited because I have wanted to get this highlighter for absolutely ages now. A few weeks ago I finally caved in and bought it... Of course I'm talking about Mary Lou! I thought that I would do a little blog post on the highlight, even though just about everyone owns it now, because after wanting it for so long I thought that it would only be appropriate to review it.

The packaging is very nice and sturdy. I love the outer box as it is really creative, and the highlighter pan itself is very simple. The pan is huge and I just know that this will last me for ages because you really don't need to use that much product.

The highlighter is extremely pigmented and, as I said earlier, you really only need the smallest amount of product to get a lot of pigmentation. The shade is a gorgeous shimmery gold and I love the way that it catches the light.

Have you tried the Mary Lou highlighter? Let me know in the comments what you think of it:)

My Current Everyday Makeup | February 2017

Hello everyone!

I haven't done an updated everyday makeup routine for a while, so I thought that I would do one today. I have been pretty much sticking with the same makeup look every day because I don't really tend to change it up that often.

Benefit PoreFessional Primer:
Of course I start my makeup off by priming my face using the Benefit PoreFessional! I got a new tube of this for Christmas which I was very happy about. I'm sure you all know by now how much I love this primer, so I'm not going to bang on about it like I usually do:)

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation:
This has been my go to foundation for the past few months and I have been absolutely loving it. I have done a full review on this foundation, so if you would like to read that then click here. To briefly sum it up: this is the best full coverage foundation I have ever tried out before, and I will definitely be repurchasing. Because this is so full coverage it means that I don't need to apply any concealer, so I just move straight onto powder.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder:
I am STILL loving my trusty Stay Matte pressed powder, which I have been using for years now. Again, you all know how much I love this foundation because I have used it for such a long time now. I like to just do a dusting of this all over my face, especially in the t zone, using a large fluffy brush.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Palette:
I have been using the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette for my eyes over the past few weeks. I love all of the shades in this palette but my go to look has been using the shades Puree, Peach Pit and Luscious. All of the shades blend out really nicely onto the eyes and are very pigmented, plus they smell like peaches:)

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara:
For mascara I apply a few coats of the Roller Lash mascara by Benefit. I got this in a gift set at Christmas and was absolutely blown away by the formula. I never thought I would like this mascara because I'm not a fan of the Maybelline Lash Sensational (a known dupe for Roller Lash) but I am pleased to say that I have fell in love with this mascara. There is something about this mascara that is different to the Maybelline dupe; because I still cannot get that one to work no matter how many times I try and apply it.

Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette:
If you saw my most recent 'currently loving' blog post then you would know how much I have been loving this Kat Von D palette recently. I take the shade Lyric under my eyes as it is a banana powder and really brightens up the under eye area. I then take the shade Subconscious as my contour colour because I really like a cool toned contour.

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer Highlight:
My favourite highlighter at the minute is The Balm Mary Lou Manizer. This product is so hyped up about and I totally agree, it is the best highlighter I have ever tried! The pigmentation is incredible and it blends out really easily on the cheekbones.

Benefit Gimme Brow Gel in 03 Medium:
I've never really filled in my brows before because they are naturally quite thick. I do like to brush through them with a brow gel to set them into place though. I've been using the Benefit Gimme Brow recently and I don't know how I lived without it before! The gel adds just the right amount of tint to the brow hairs whilst still looking quite natural.

MAC Brave Lipstick & GOSH Rose Lip Oil:
Throughout the last few months I have been absolutely loving a matte lip (usually the Kylie Cosmetics Moon Liquid Lipstick) but my lips have been so dehydrated recently that I have been trying to stay away from matte lipsticks. My favourite lip combo at the minute is the MAC Brave lipstick with the GOSH Rose Lip Oil on top. Brave is a satin finish lipstick so it doesn't dry out the lips, and the GOSH Lip Oil is extremely moisturising.

I hope that you enjoyed reading my everyday makeup look for February 2017. How often do you change up your makeup look?

Until next time,

Beauty Wish List #6

Hello everyone!

It has been a little while since I did a beauty wish list, so today I thought I would share with you some of the beauty products which I am dying to get my hands on:)

MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipsticks in Lady Be Good & High Drama:
MAC have recently released a range of matte liquid lipsticks which I am really excited about. I love a good matte liquid lipstick because I really like a matte lip. I've tried a lot of different brands' liquid lipsticks, so I really want to try some of these ones to see what they're like. The two shades I like the look of the most is Lady Be Good and High Drama. High Drama is a very deep dark plum shade and Lady Be Good is a typical everyday warm mid toned nude shade.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Palette:
I recently purchased the Too Faced Sweet Peach eye shadow palette and I love it so much that I want to try some other products from the range. The first product I want to try is the Glow Palette which consists of a highlight, blush and bronzer shade. The packaging of this range is beautiful and all of the products smell amazing!

Too Faced Sweet Peach Lip Gloss in Papa Don't Peach:
The other product from the Sweet Peach range I want to try is the Papa Don't Peach gloss. I have seen so many swatches of this gloss and the shade is beautiful for everyday wear. Although I do love a good matte lip, I have been wearing glosses and lip oils more frequently lately.

Soap & Glory The Mighty Contourer:
I'd never seen this product from Soap & Glory until I was browsing the Boots website. I think that it is fairly new, but I'm not entirely sure. I love trying out new contour products and I love the idea of this little trio. In the trio you get a cream contour shade on the top, and then you lift that up and underneath is a cream blush as well as a cream highlight. These sorts of products are what I like for travel because you have three products in one little compact, which doesn't take up a lot of space.

Clarins Instant Light Lip Oil Limited Edition:
As mentioned earlier, I am getting into lip oils and glosses a lot more recently. The GOSH Rose Lip Oil has been one of my favourites for a while, but I have been wanting to branch out and try some others. The Clarins Lip Oil is very popular amongst bloggers, and I honestly don't know why I've never got round to trying one out. This one in particular is limited edition, so I'm not sure how long it's going to be around for, but the colour is very pretty.

L'Oreal Infallible Total Coverage Foundation:
I've seen this foundation on a few different blogs recently, but I don't think it's available in the UK yet. I have tried the original L'Oreal Infallible foundation and I was a really big fan of it, so I think that this would be something I would love. So far I have heard great reviews on this foundation; as it offers a really high coverage which lasts all day. I can't wait until this comes to the UK:)

Barry M Colour Correction Kit:
Last year I tried tons of colour correcting products, some cheap ones and some on the more pricey side. From the drugstore Barry M have released their own colour correcting kit. It contains four colour correcting shades: salmon, purple, green and peach. I have become obsessed with colour correcting and I think that it has completely changed my makeup game. Do let me know if you have tried this kit and what you thought of it.

Lancome La Vie Est Belle Perfume:
I also wanted to include one perfume in this wish list. I love trying new fragrances out and the one which has caught my eye recently has been the Lancome La Vie Est Belle. I have smelled this perfume and it smells absolutely gorgeous. It's right up my alley and I definitely need to get my hands on a bottle!

I hope that you enjoyed finding out what is on my beauty wish list. What is on your beauty wish list?

Until next time,

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Palette | Review & Swatches

Hello everyone!

I have seen so many pictures of the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette recently, and I knew that I had to get my hands on one to try out. I ordered mine from Debenhams a few weeks ago and have been testing out all of the shades. Today I am going to be sharing my honest opinion on the palette as well as swatches of all of the shades:)

First of all, this palette smells absolutely insane! People weren't joking when they said it smelt like peaches! I love that Too Faced add a scent to all of their palettes; it is definitely something that makes their brand unique and a little bit different.

The packaging is also gorgeous too. I love the peach colour theme to match the theme of the palette. You get 18 shades in this palette which I think is great for £39. All of the shades inside are really pretty too, and there is a whole range of shades to suit everybody. I also really like that there are shimmery, matte, frosty and glittery shades in this palette.

All of the shades blend really easily and look stunning on the eyes. The final two shades in the palette aren't very pigmented to be honest, but I haven't had a problem with any of the other shades. I will use all of the shades in this palette; which is something that's rare for me. I have been loving the shades Luscious, Cobbler, Belini, Peach Pit and Puree the most. I am still experimenting with all of the shades at the minute, but so far I have gotten so many different looks out of this palette.

I'm now going to end the post by showing you swatches of all 18 shades. It is very obvious from the second image that the last two shades in the palette aren't very pigmented, as I mentioned earlier, but you can really see how pigmented all of the other shades are.
(Top to bottom: White Peach, Nectar, Peaches n Cream, Luscious, Cobbler, Georgia, Just Peachy, Candied Peach & Caramelized)
(Top to bottom: Bless Her Heart, Bellini, Puree, Tempting, Peach Pit, Summer Yum, Charmed I'm Sure, Delectable & Talk Derby To Me)

I hope you liked this little review on the new Too Faced Sweet Peach palette! Have you tried this palette? What do you think of it?

An AMAZING Cat Subscription You HAVE To Try!*

Hello everyone!

At the end of last year I mentioned that I wanted to start doing blog posts that are non beauty related. Today I am going to be doing just that, as I have to share with you a cat subscription service which any cat owner (and their furry friend!) will love. Animal Box recently sent me one of their subscription boxes for my gorgeous cats, Toby and Bubbles, to try out. I am going to be sharing with you pictures of everything in my box as well as lots of useful information about the company.

Animal Box actually do subscription services for both cats and dogs, but I am going to just be focusing on the Purrfect box today.

In the boxes you get around 8 items, all for £24.90! I personally think that it is a great price, considering you get so many different items for your cats to try. Also, when you sign up you can complete a profile for your cat so that you receive the best possible products for them.

The box that the products arrive in is really cute (as you can see in the photo!), and the inside of the box is lined with tissue paper which has pink paw prints on it.

I am now going to run through the items that were in my box, and I will leave a link to the website at which you can purchase one of these boxes:)

There were 8 items in my box in total:
Gim Cat Shiny Cat Filet (chicken with papaya and tuna with crab)
 Filous Chicken Cube Treats
Healthy Centres Roast Chicken Flavour Bites
 Tyrol Monkey Toy With Catnip
 Tabby Chic Toy
 Pet Throw
Trixie Mouse Scratching Toy
Bubbles checking out her new blanket
Toby playing with his new mouse toy
Bubbles enjoying her yummy treats

Overall I would definitely recommend this subscription service if you have a furry friend who likes trying out new food and toys. Everything went down an absolute treat with my two, especially the chicken cubes!

What's In My Handbag 2017

Hello everyone!

I recently bought a Michael Kors handbag and purse, and I decided that I would do an updated 'what's in my handbag' to celebrate my new purchases! The last time I did this post was March 2016, so it definitely did need updating anyway.

I'm going to be focusing on the contents of my bag, rather than the bag itself. But to summarise; the bag is the Mercer Large Tote bag in black. I decided to go for the black version because black goes with everything, so I will be able to use it with all of my outfits. The bag also has all silver metal detailing which is great because I only wear silver jewelry.

The bag is sectioned into three different parts, and I have a place for everything in the bag. I am going to very quickly run through what I keep in each section, and then I will talk about each product in more detail. In the front section I keep my purse and phone. Then, in the middle section I have some beauty products that I will get onto later. Finally in the third section I have my keys along with some more beauty, tech and random bits.

Starting with the front section of my handbag, I have my phone (iPhone 6) and purse (Michael Kors). Inside my purse I have a number of different loyalty cards such as Boots, Superdrug, Starbucks and House of Fraser. I also have a bit of cash in there as well as my debit card. I also have a portable charger in this section because my phone is always dying. Along with that I obviously have my iPhone charging wire.

The zip section in the middle of the bag contains a number of different compartments, and I have inserted an image of the section empty so that you can see these different compartments. Inside I have a concealer, powder and the appropriate makeup brushes. I also have a few different lipsticks in there because I like to have lots of options! I also have a few glasses wipes, because I wear glasses and they regularly get dirty.

The last section of the bag is the back section. In here I keep a whole range of items. I have my house keys, headphones, sunglasses, lip balm, hand cream, hair bobbles, hair grips, a hair brush, perfume and some random receipts. I always have to carry a lip balm and hand cream on me because I get really dry hands and lips. The perfume I have in my handbag at the minute is the YSL Black Opium, and it is a mini 7.5ml bottle which I got in a YSL gift set at Christmas. The cream I keep in my bag is the Zoella Ginger Cream, which I use as a hand cream because it smells absolutely amazing. I think that the other items in this section are pretty standard, so I don't feel like I need to explain those.

I hope that you enjoyed my updated 'what's in my handbag'. What are your handbag essentials?
