Lipstick Day: 5 Favourite Lipsticks & Swatches

Hello everyone!

Happy Lipstick Day! The 29th July marks Lipstick Day, a celebration which I hadn't actually heard of until recently. I am a huge lipstick junkie so I thought that it was only fitting to share my 5 favourite lipsticks, plus swatches, on this very important day of the year haha:)

Lipstick has come a very long way since the first commercial lipstick was invented in 1884. I think that lipstick is great as you can get it in virtually any colour, in a range of different finishes and formulas.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Celebrity Skin:
I own a few Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks but I couldn't just make this post all about his lipsticks, so I decided to just choose my favourite shade. Choosing my favourite shade was really easy as it is, hands down, Celebrity Skin. This is such an amazing nude lipstick as it goes perfectly with my skin tone and is everything that I could possibly imagine for my dream lipstick. It's very long lasting, easy to apply and pigmented- what more could you possibly want?!

Nip + Fab Matte Liquid Lipstick in Toffee:
Staying along the theme of matte nude liquid lipsticks, my next favourite is the Nip + Fab liquid lipstick in the shade Toffee. This liquid lipstick lives up to everything that it claims to be, and I think it's a great affordable alternative to the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks and also the Kyle Cosmetics liquid lipsticks. The application is brilliant with this lipstick as the formula is really smooth and the applicator itself is easy to use and precisely apply your lipstick.

Nip + Fab Matte Liquid Lipstick in Red Velvet:
I couldn't just include all nude lipsticks in this post, I had to mention at least one colourful lipstick. One lipstick which I have been reaching for very regularly recently is called Red Velvet and it's another lipstick from Nip + Fab. Can you tell that I have really been enjoying their products recently?! Red Velvet is just as the name suggests; a really deep dark red shade. If I am wearing a red lip then I do like it be this deep red shade rather than an orange toned red as I just find them so complimentary for my lighter complexion.

GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick in Cinnamon:
I do lean towards liquid lipsticks on a daily basis but, believe it or not, I do enjoy a stick formula lipstick too- as long as it's a matte finish! GOSH lipsticks have been in my collection for years now because they are so smooth to apply, despite being a matte formula, and look so pretty. Admittedly, these aren't as long lasting as liquid lipsticks but what I do like about these is that when they do wear off throughout the day they don't patchy which means they don't look awful at the end of a long day.

Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in Bow N Arrow:
My final lipstick favourite for this post is the Kat Von D's Bow N Arrow. This is the miniature version of this lipstick as I did get this in a gift set at Christmas, but nonetheless it is a lovely lipstick. The formula is very velvety, just like the JSC liquid lipsticks, and the shade is just totally my colour! This dries down matte very quickly once applied to the lips and stays there all day long.

Those are my five favourite lipsticks in celebration of Lipstick Day! What are your holy grail lip products?

Until next time,

5 Books To Consider Reading

Hello everyone!

For me, the best part about going on holiday is getting to relax around the pool reading a good book. I never fail to take at least two (okay, maybe a few more!) books on holiday to ensure I am well prepared for my week away. Saying as though I am going on holiday soon I thought that it would be nice to share 5 of the books I am considering for my holiday, and ones you should consider reading too!

Charlotte Says by Alex Bell:
This is the prequel to a book that I read last year called Frozen Charlotte. I have been saving this book for my holiday and I absolutely cannot wait to read it as Frozen Charlotte was a great read. The story line had me completely hooked and I am sure that this book will be just as amazing, if not better.
"Tormented by memories of the fire that destroyed her home, Jemima flees to the remote Isle of Skye. But her role as assistant mistress at Dunvegan School for Girls is far from the fresh start she so desperately needs. Then Jemima receives a box of dolls from a mystery sender. And so the games begin..."

Holding Up The Universe by Jennifer Niven:
I have wanted to read this book, and the next two that I am going to mention, ever since they were featured in Zoella's W H Smith Book Club. I have read one of Jennifer Niven's books before, All The Bright Places, and it was absolutely beautifully written. I love love stories so I just know that I am going to start reading this and find it very hard to put it down!
"Everyone thinks they know Libby Strout, but no one's ever looked past her weight to see who she really is. Since her mum's death, Libby's been hiding, but now she's ready for high school. Everyone thinks they know Jack Masselin too- sexy, aloof and too cool for school. But Jack's swaggering confidence is hiding a secret he must keep at all costs. Then Jack meets Libby. And their worlds change."

Lying About Last Summer by Sue Wallman:
What I like about this book is that it isn't as lengthy as some of the other books I have mentioned in this post. Don't get me wrong I do love a good thick book to get my teeth into, but I also like books that are a little bit shorter as they're the perfect length to read all in one go when sitting around the pool or on the beach. I had never heard of Sue Wallman until I found this book in the Zoella Book Club so I did a quick search on Google and I have now added another one of her books, See How They Lie, onto my book wish list:)
"Last summer Skye's sister died in a tragic accident. Now she's looking for an escape from reality. Her parents might think that a holiday camp for bereaved teens might help her move on. At first camp doesn't seem so bad. But when Skye starts receiving texts from someone claiming to be her dead sister, she fears the past is about to surface..."

The Art Of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson:
I haven't even read this book yet but I already know that it's going to be such an emotional but inspirational read. I have read many reviews on this book and they are all very positive so I will definitely let you all know what I think of this once I have read it.
"Two outsiders. Two secrets. David longs to be a girl. Leo wants to be invisible. When Leo stands up for David in a fight, an unlikely friendship forms. But things are about to get messy. Because at Eden Park School secrets have a funny habit of not staying secret for long..."

It Started With A Tweet by Anna Bell:
I love lighthearted books like this one as they make great, easy reading. This is a bit of a romance story and it's also said to be very funny in places too. Very relatable for today's society too with the underlying theme of technology.
"Daisy Hobson lives her whole life online. But when her social media obsession causes her to make a catastrophic mistake at work, she finds her life going into free-fall... Her sister Rosie thinks she has the answer- a digital detox in a remote cottage in Cumbria. And soon Daisy finds a welcome distraction there in Jack, the rugged man-next-door. Can Daisy ever really settle into life in an isolated village? And, more importantly, can she survive without her phone?"

So, those are the 5 books that I am considering for my holiday! Do you like reading on holiday? If so, what is your favourite genre to read?

Travel Bucket List

Hello everyone!

I am going to be going on holiday soon but that doesn't stop me from lusting over other destinations whatsoever! I have had a travel bucket list for a while now so I thought that it would be nice to share some of the destinations on it:)

Niagra Falls, North America
I am sure you have all heard of Niagra Falls AKA the most famous waterfall in the world! It looks like such a calming and peaceful place to go.

Sydney, Australia
I have wanted to go to Australia for as long as I can remember, particularly Sydney. I'm not going to lie, one of the reasons is because Sydney gets very hot in the Summer time and I would get a great tan. I would love to visit the iconic Bondi Beach as it looks absolutely beautiful there.

Grand Canyon, United States
The Grand Canyon has also been at the top of my bucket list for a while now, just look at how stunning it is! The views are said to be amazing at sunset so I definitely need to see for myself at some point.

Great Barrier Reef, Australia
Another destination I would love to visit, this time in Queensland, is the Great Barrier Reef. There are so many documentaries and videos of people snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef and it just looks astonishing.

Marfa, Texas
You may be wondering why I have such a random place on my travel bucket list but let me tell you that it is a very good reason. I only came across this destination quite recently when I saw that it had a Prada sculpture. This is such an Instagrammable destination haha!

Bordeaux, France
I have been to France before but it was a different part of the country. I particularly want to visit Bordeaux as I've always wanted to go on a wine tasting experience abroad and the vineyards in Bordeaux look beautiful. Also, the pictures I have seen of the main city on an evening look amazing.

New York
I feel like New York are on so many travel bucket lists as it's such a popular destination. If I went to New York I would want to go around Christmas time as the decorations are always above and beyond, especially at the Rockefeller Center. There are also so many shops over in America which we don't have over here, such as Victoria's Secret and Sephora.

Isla Holbox, Mexico
Mexico is a place that I've wanted to visit ever since seeing loads of gorgeous pictures of it on Instagram. The island is said to be full of marine life like turtles. How can you resist when you see those gorgeous photos?!

Those are some of the gorgeous destinations on my travel bucket list. What's on your list?

Until next time,

Go To Holiday Makeup Routine 2018

Hello everyone!

My holiday is very quickly approaching and today I thought that I would continue with my holiday-themed posts and show you my makeup essentials which I will be taking along with me. I do take a lot of different products with me because there's nothing better than getting glammed up in the evenings on holiday!

I store all of my makeup products in this really cute Minnie Mouse bag from Primark. It was such a bargain and it's the perfect size for my holiday makeup essentials. I like that there are two sections as I have separated my products out so that I know where everything is; I have my face products in one section and eyes and lips in the other.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer:
Primer is an important part of my holiday makeup routine because it is going to prep my skin and ensure my makeup is looking good all night. I might only be wearing makeup on an evening but it is still quite hot on a night time where I'm going, so I am definitely going to be needing this! I have tried many primers however this is one of my firm favourites as it's slightly tacky meaning any makeup you apply on top of it is definitely not going anywhere for a while:)

Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Combination/Oily Skin in 150 Buff:
For foundation I'm taking the Revlon Colorstay for Combination/Oily skin because I know that this foundation lasts really well on my skin and it's also got a really nice coverage to it. I purposefully bought a darker shade than what I would usually wear because obviously I am going to be sunbathing so I'll be darker than what I usually am.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair 1:
This concealer is a must have for me, and many many other people, as it's such a bargain and also works absolute wonders. I will never get bored of this concealer because I have never found anything like it; even high end concealers just don't compare! I go through so many of these and will continue to do so.

RCMA No Colour Powder & Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Translucent:
I am taking two powder options with me as I do use both of these on a daily basis already. I like to set my under eye area, forehead, chin and nose with the RCMA No Colour Powder. I am completely obsessed with this powder as it sets my makeup in place all day long. I bought a new tub of this to take on holiday with me because my other tub is basically empty. I also have the Rimmel Stay Matte powder to set the rest of my face with and also for any quick touch ups that may be needed.

Nip + Fab Eye Shadow Palette in Sculpted 1 & MAC Eye Shadow in All That Glitters:
I like to go all out on holiday which means I like to do eye makeup as I feel like it can completely transform your look. I am taking a few different eye options because I don't know what sort of eye look I will be wanting to do until it actually comes to doing my makeup. I am taking the Nip + Fab Sculpted eye shadow palette because there are some gorgeous shades in the palette and you can get lots of different looks from them. The palette is primarily matte so I am taking MAC's All That Glitters eye shadow as well because I love to pop a shimmery shadow in the centre of my lid.

L'Oreal Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara:
Waterproof mascara is an essential because there's nothing worse than your mascara smudging from all of the humidity. I haven't actually tried this mascara before but I have heard so many great things about it so I'm hoping that I love it just as much as everyone else does. I will probably end up taking another mascara which I know I already love with me too- I don't know how I would cope if I ended up not liking this one and had no other mascara for the whole holiday!

NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in Brunette:
As I've mentioned previously I do like to keep my eyebrows fairly natural because they are already quite thick and don't really need filling in. I repurchased a fresh tube of my favourite brow mascara so that I know I'm not going to run out whilst I'm away because I have had my other tube for some time now, and knowing my luck it would run out on holiday.

Nip + Fab Contour Palette in Light 1:
I have loved this contour palette for quite some time now, so there's no doubt it's got a place in my travel makeup bag. This palette also has two great brightening powders for the under eye area as well as a highlighter. The highlighter is more on the natural side, so I will be taking something a bit more blinding, but it is still very pretty.

Milani Strobelight Instant Glow Highlighter in Afterglow:
As I just said I am taking a highlighter with me because the highlighter in the contour palette just isn't blinding enough. I have the Milani Strobelight highlighter in my makeup bag because it's such a gorgeous shade and is so pigmented and blinding. I am obsessed with this!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks in Deceased & Cherry Wet:
I have been pretty tame with my lip options as I am only taking two with me which I am pleased about. Both of the lipsticks I am taking are Jeffree Star Cosmetics because JSC are my all time favourite lipsticks as you've probably heard countless times from me by now. The two shades I'm taking are very different as Deceased is a mauve shade whereas Cherry Wet is, just as the name suggests, a very vibrant cherry red shade.

So, that is everything in my holiday makeup bag. What are your holiday makeup essentials?

Until next time,
Emily xo

Jewellery Storage You NEED | Little Shop Of Ltd*

Hello everyone!

I love collecting jewellery but face the problem of not being able to find effective, and affordable, storage...that was until now! Little Shop Of Ltd recently sent me some of their lovely jewellery storage and I really wanted to share the items with you all as I am LOVING them right now:)

What I love about their range of storage is that they come in so many different designs so there's definitely going to be something to suit everyone's taste. I was sent a whole host of designs including gold, silver, pink and daisy print.

The first item I am going to talk about today is the Little Book of Necklaces. I don't own a lot of necklaces because I find them very hard to store without getting all tangled up and damaged. This storage book, however, is a complete game changer as it allows you to store all of your necklaces so that they don't become tangled together like necklaces usually do. I am also storing my bracelets in this book and it's working out well.

Next up we have the Little Book of Earrings, of which I was sent two larger books and also one travel sized book. I kept the gold larger book for myself as it's so pretty and then gave the hot pink one away to a family member. I also kept the lovely metallic pink smaller book as I am going to be taking it along with me on holiday; it's the perfect size for popping in your suitcase! I am also storing my nose studs and rings in the earring book because there's plenty of space for everything.

Rings are my favourite jewellery pieces to wear and I have so many pretty ones. This has got to be my favourite storage book from Little Shop Of Ltd because the silver packaging is really lovely and my rings look so pretty stored all together.

Last but not least; Little Shop Of Ltd also have a range of bundle bags which are multi purpose storage bags. I don't think I would store my jewellery in these bags as I feel like my necklaces etc would get all tangled up, however they are really great for taking travelling with you and storing your makeup and toiletries. They come in two different sizes and you can really see how big the larger size is by all of the eye shadow palettes I was able to fit inside. The smaller bag is really cute and is great for storing lipsticks and smaller makeup products in also. Just look how pretty and Summery that daisy print is too!

Those are all of the lovely goodies I was very kindly gifted from Little Shop Of Ltd. They really do have some absolute gems and you 100% have to check their website out:)

Currently Loving #14

Hello everyone!

It hasn't been too long since my previous 'Currently Loving' post but I have a few products which I have been loving lately, and I thought it would be worthwhile sharing them with you today.

Milani Strobelight Instant Glow Powder in Afterglow (£13.00):
I hadn't treat myself to a new highlighter in quite some time so when I saw this gorgeous highlighter on Beauty Bay recently I knew that I had to pick one up and try it out for myself. I had never tried Milani highlighters before now but the swatches which I have seen online are absolutely stunning, so I had no doubt in my mind that I would love this. I have the shade Afterglow which is a champagne shade. The pigmentation on this highlighter is amazing and it looks gorgeous on the skin. I definitely need to try some more shades!

Morphe R36 Pointed Highlight Brush (£9.00):
To go alongside my new highlighter I treat myself to a new highlighter brush. I have always wanted to try a tulip shaped brush for applying my highlighter with as it's supposed to apply the highlighter seamlessly; and I can now see why so many people prefer these brushes over the classic fan brush. To be honest I don't think I will be using a fan brush again for my highlighter because this just doesn't compare.

Morphe 15N Night Master Palette (£15.00):
I spotted this palette under the 'back in stock' section on Beauty Bay so I figured it must be a good palette if it keeps going out of stock. I took my opportunity to snap up one of these palettes and I am very glad with that decision. The shades in this palette are everything that I go for on a day to day basis. What I like about this palette is that there are neutral shades which can be used to create a soft everyday look, and there are some darker glam shades which make a stunning smokey eye. My favourite shades so far are Unique, Illustrated, Creativity, Cliche and Excuse Me.

Primark Bee Backpack (£10.00):
I featured this gorgeous backpack in my 'Summer Holiday Haul' blog post, but I just had to feature it in this post as well because I am obsessed with it. I was planning on keeping this to use as my carry on bag when I go on holiday but I couldn't help myself, I just had to use it before then! The bee design is really on trend right now so no doubt this is going to be a very popular product over the coming weeks and months. I only wish Primark would let you shop online- there are so many other products I want to get my hands on as well!

Impulse Body Mist in Burnt Marshmallow & Leather Jacket (£6.99):
The name of this body mist is quite strange if I'm honest, but that doesn't change the fact it smells absolutely gorgeous. I definitely need to get my hands on some more of these body mists because if this one is anything to go by they are a hidden gem! I picked mine up on offer in Boots for just £1, but they usually retail for around £7 which is great because you don't need to use a lot of the product to get a strong long-lasting fragrance.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Deceased (£16.00):
Jeffree Star Cosmetics liquid lipsticks are my all time favourite lipsticks, and whilst doing a recent Beauty Bay shop I knew that I had to add another shade to my collection. I decided upon the shade Deceased, a cool-toned light mauve, which is a shade I wouldn't usually go for. I do tend to stick to nudes but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and get a shade which I don't have anything like in my collection. I am very happy with my decision as this shade looks great on the lips, if I do say so myself:)

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Hand Held Mirror Blow Pony (£22.00):
I've been debating whether to buy one of the JSC hand held mirrors ever since they were released- but I thought it would be very useful to take travelling with me in case I don't have a mirror available to do my makeup in. There are so many pretty colours but I decided on the lovely lilac mirror, as purple is my favourite colour, and I am completely obsessed with this. This was a great addition to my JSC collection.

Nomadic Dairy Yogurt & Oats Clusters Pots (£1.35 each):
I never usually feature food in these posts but I just couldn't leave these delicious yogurt and oats clusters pots out- they're delicious! I discovered these about two months ago and ever since I have been obsessed with them. At the moment they come in three flavours; chocolate, strawberry and blueberry & blackcurrant. Of course the chocolate pots are my favourite, because who doesn't love chocolate, but I do enjoy all three of the flavours.

Real Techniques Brush Crush 300 Powder (£12.99):
I cannot resist treating myself to new makeup brushes- especially when they're as pretty as this one! Purple is my favourite colour and I love glitter, so when I saw this brush I just had to get it. Just like every other Real Techniques brush, the bristles are super soft and feels really high quality too. I am definitely going to be finishing off my collection soon.

Makeup Revolution Pro Matte Lip Pigment in Pretence (£4.00):
Makeup Revolution have recently released a new makeup line and because I am obsessed with nude lipsticks I knew that I had to try a lip product out from the range. The Matte Lip Pigments are very popular so I was expecting good things from them. I picked up the shade Pretence which is the classic nude shade that I wear on a daily basis. I was really impressed with the pigmentation of this lipstick as one coat is very opaque and offers full coverage. They are a little drying, but that's to be expected with matte lipsticks, and they last fairly well. The lasting power isn't as much as my Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks but they do last a decent amount of time. I am definitely going to look at picking up some more shades- maybe even some bolder shades which I wouldn't usually go for:)

Those are all of the lovely things I have been loving recently! Let me know in the comments what you've been loving:)

Until next time,
Emily xo
