Best Of Affordable Makeup

Hello everyone!

Whilst it's nice to treat yourself to high-end makeup sometimes, you can't deny that drugstore makeup can be just as high quality (and sometimes better!). In today's post I thought that I would share my favourite drugstore makeup products that I think you should try too:)

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation:
This foundation has got to be my favourite drugstore foundation ever, and is definitely in my top 3 foundations of all time. I have been using this for years and I just cannot fault it as it offers a good coverage which is what I always look for in my foundation. It lasts incredibly well as I wear my makeup for 14+ hours most days, so a long lasting foundation is definitely a must have for me.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer:
The Collection Lasting Perfection concealer has to be the most hyped about concealer in the beauty world, and I totally understand why everyone loves it so much! This is easily one of the most full coverage concealers I own whilst being a fraction of a high-end concealer. I use this under my eyes and it doesn't crease whatsoever once it's set in place and I also use it to cover any blemishes as it doesn't wear off throughout the day like some other concealers do.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder:
Rimmel Stay Matte has been part of my makeup collection ever since I can remember- so that just goes to show how great this powder is! I love this as it really does keep my face looking matte all day without it looking cakey or powdery. I will continue to use this for as long as I wear makeup as I can't imagine wearing makeup without it.

Wet N Wild 10 Pan Eye Shadow Palette in Nude Awakening:
Wet N Wild has been quite a recent discovery for me but I am loving their products nonetheless. I could not believe my eyes when I saw this 10 pan eye shadow palette for under £4! I like to keep my eye looks very safe, sticking with primarily neutral shades, so Nude Awakening is a great option if you go for neutral shadows like me. The eye shadows themselves are have some great pigmentation and are also smooth for easy blending.

NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in Brunette:
As I have mentioned previously, I don't do too much to my eye brows as they are already quite full and well shaped. For that reason I use a tinted brow mascara on a daily basis just to enhance the colour and also keep the hairs from straying. The NYX Tinted Brow Mascara is what I will be wearing on my brows 99% of the time and have been doing so for around 3 or 4 years now.

Wet N Wild Mega Glo Highlighter in Blossom Glow:
Another gem from Wet N Wild that I have been recommending a lot recently is the Mega Glo highlighter in the shade Blossom Glow. I love a blinding highlight so those that I will recommend will be exactly that- blinding. I was so impressed with both the formula and pigmentation of this highlighter when I first tried it, and I still am, as it's everything I usually look for in my highlighters. It doesn't wear off throughout the day which is really great as I have found in the past that some don't tend to look as blinding at the end of the day as when they were first applied. If you like cool toned silver highlighters then this one is definitely for you!

Wet N Wild Megalast Lipstick in Bare It All:
I am loving Wet N Wild's makeup at the moment and I will definitely be trying a lot more of it out soon. I wanted to mention this lipstick because, although I haven't been using it for all that long, it has featured heavily in my everyday makeup routine. The shade Bare It All is a nice darker nude and one quick swipe of the lipstick gives an opaque, even finish. I actually have two other shades of this lipstick but this is the one which I get the most use out of, and I do want to try some more shades out.

Revolution Pro Matte Lip Pigment in Pretence:
This is one of the only drugstore liquid lipsticks I use as I find that the majority of the others can be very drying on the lips. I was really impressed with how long lasting this lipstick is and for £4 you honestly can't go wrong. Pretence is a classic nude shade which applies smoothly onto the lips. It also dries down fairly quickly. I definitely want to try out some more shades as I can imagine they are all as great as these:)

GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick in Antique:
I first mentioned this lipstick on my blog many years ago and I have loved it ever since. I definitely need to purchase a new one of these because mine is very well loved. It's perfect for everyday wear and lasts well for a stick formula lipstick. It's also a matte finish however is very comfortable to wear and not drying.

These are all absolute gems! Do you own any of these? Will you be picking any up?

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Blood Sugar Palette | Review & Swatches

Hello everyone!

This gorgeous palette recently entered my life when it was restocked on Beauty Bay- thank goodness! I had been wanting this for the LONGEST time but it always sells out immediately; I guess I had a stroke of luck this time:)

There are some nude shades in this palette but most of them are colourful reds and purples; something I would never used to dream of using, until now. I have experimented so much with different colours since getting this palette and created so many beautiful looks.

The formula of these shadows are like no other- they're really creamy and blend out absolutely amazingly and easily. They are definitely some of the most pigmented shadows I've ever used before.

Just look at these swatches of my favourite shades!
Bottom to top: Donor, Candy Floss, Cavity, Blood Sugar & Extraction

All in all I am completely in love with this palette! Do you own it? If not you're really missing out!

Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Ring The Alarm Eye Shadow Palette | Review & Swatches

Hello everyone!

One of my favourite eye shadow palettes I am using at the moment is the gorgeous Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Ring The Alarm palette. If you didn't already know, Jaclyn Hill recently collabed with Morphe to produce a vault containing 4 eye shadow palettes. I was really tempted to buy all 4 palettes because they looked beautiful and I wanted the full collection, however I just knew deep down that the shade range in the other 3 palettes isn't something I would usually reach for and therefore I wouldn't use them. I do want to share my thoughts on the Ring The Alarm Palette today as it is right up my street and I am LOVING it:)

The packaging of the palette is quite simple but very nice and elegant at the same time. Each of the palettes contain 10 eye shadows, with the Ring The Alarm palette containing solely warm toned shadows.

I instantly fell in love with this palette as the shades are everything I reach for on a day to day basis. There are a few matte browns in the palette which are great transition shades and there are also some really pretty berries, reds and shimmers.

The formula of the eye shadows is up to the usual Morphe quality; with them being very smooth and easy to blend out. They are also really pigmented and vibrant, as you can see in the swatches.

(Bottom to top: Bomb Ass, Siren, Mugshot, Framed & Secret

If you are debating whether to try out one of Jaclyn's new palettes with Morphe then I would definitely tell you to do it, and if you are into warm toned shadows then this is the palette to go for! This is definitely going to be my go-to Autumn/Winter eye shadow palette this year as the shades are just perfect:)

Until next time,

Beauty Bay Haul | September 2018

Hello everyone!

These Beauty Bay hauls are becoming quite the regular occurrence, and are possibly my favourite posts to write (although I'm sure my bank account will not be pleased with that!). I shop on Beauty Bay at least once a month so I thought that I would make this a series where I share what I've bought on Beauty Bay each month, starting with September:)

Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eye Shadow Palette (£43.00):
I have lusted over Anastasia Beverly Hills eye shadow palettes for so long and I have no idea why I'm only just getting around to trying one out. I was really excited to receive this as I have been waiting so long to get my hands on one of these coveted palettes. The Soft Glam palette just screams my name as it contains 14 gorgeous neutral shades which I would use on an everyday basis. The palette contains a range of opaque mattes as well as some really intensely pigmented glitter shades, as you can see from the swatches. I also love the packaging of the palette as it has a suede cover; although I can imagine it gets really dirty! I can't wait to get some more ABH palettes- so expect to see at least one in my next haul!

Top row (bottom to top): Tempera, Glistening, Orange Soda, Rose Pink, Sultry, Bronze & Mulberry

Bottom row (bottom to top): Dusty Rose, Fairy, Burnt Orange, Sienna, Rustic, Cyprus Umber & Noir

Wet N Wild MegaGlo Highlighter in Blossom Glow & Precious Petals (£3.75 each):
Wet N Wild has recently launched on Beauty Bay and it is a brand I have heard a lot about, so I wanted to pick up a few products to give them a try. I picked the products based on reviews which I have previously read, and the MegaGlo highlighters are something that have been recommended time and time again. There were only two shades available on the website at the time of ordering, Blossom Glow and Precious Petals, and as you can see I did pick both shades up. Blossom Glow is a cool-toned silver highlighter whereas Precious Petals is more on the warm/peachier side. Both highlighters are very light and powdery meaning they blend out really easily, and you also only need a small amount of product as a little does go a long way. They both look stunning and catch the light well. I know that there are more shades in this collection and I can't wait for them to be added to Beauty Bay so I can buy them all:)

Wet N Wild Colour Icon 10 Pan Eye Shadow Palette in Nude Awakening & Rose In The Air (£3.75 each):
I spotted these palettes on Beauty Bay also and I must admit that I had never seen these before, but I couldn't believe how affordable they were. For under £4 you get a palette which contains 10 eye shadow shades which is more than enough to create loads of different looks. There are three varieties and I ended up going with the two that screamed 'me' the most. The first palette I picked up is Nude Awakening which consists of neutral browns, beiges and also a few pinks. This palette is perfect for a minimal everyday eye shadow look and the shades are just so easy to work with. The other palette I got is Rose In The Air. This reminds me so much of the ABH Modern Renaissance palette with all of its warm toned oranges and purples. I will definitely get a lot of use from this palette in the Autumn/Winter and, again, it's so easy to use. If you are looking for a good palette to travel or just to use on a daily basis then check these out!

Wet N Wild Megalast Lip Colour in Mocha-licious, Bare It All & Spiked With Rum (£3.00 each):
The final products that I bought from Wet N Wild are their Megalast Lip Colours, and I bought three shades. It won't surprise you that the three shades I bought are all nudes because they are what I wear everyday, and if these last as well as what they claim to then I will be wearing them everyday. The three shades I got are Mocha-licious, Bare It All and Spiked With Rum, and I was pleased to see that they weren't too similar to each other. Mocha-licious is the darkest of the three and a true dark brown shade. Bare it all is the lightest of the shades and is a very natural nude shade, whereas Spiked With Rum is a pink nude.

(excuse the shimmer on my hand- I had just swatched the Wet N Wild highlighters and this just shows how good they are!)

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Thick As Thieves & Androgyny (£16.00):
As I mentioned loads of times on my blog, I am expanding my Jeffee Star Cosmetics collection so do expect to see at least one product of his in every haul from now on! I am obsessed with his liquid lipsticks and I just want to own every shade- I will get there some day! The two newest editions to my collection are Thick As Thieves and Androgyny. Thick As Thieves is a warm toned nude which is the classic shade I always reach for and can never get enough of. Androgyny is a very similar shade to Deceased, which I already own, except Androgyny is slightly warmer toned. I will be doing a Jeffree Star Cosmetics collection at some point and I will also swatch them all so that you can compare the shades, so stay tuned!
(Again with the Wet N Wild highlighter shimmer haha!)

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Skin Frost in Sarcophagus (£25.50):
Whilst expanding my JSC lipstick collection I am also working on my highlighter collection. This is only the second JSC highlighter I own but I will definitely be buying more shades as these are just so pigmented and stunning. These highlighters are literally going to last me FOREVER because the pans are so big and you really don't need to apply a lot of product due to the intense pigmentation. Sarcophagus is a champagne highlighter with almost a hint of pink undertones. This is the classic shade I go for when it comes to highlighter so no doubt I will use this to death!

Mario Badescu Acne Starter Kit (£28.00):
It feels like I have been writing this blog post for such a long time now- but we're finally on the last product! The last product I picked up is skincare because my skincare routine has just went downhill lately. I have heard so many great things about Mario Badescu skincare but I thought that I would get this starter kit before purchasing the full sized products just in case. I have used this a few times and my skin feels amazing and I already see and feel a difference, so no doubt the full sized products will be in next months post and also a 'Currently Loving' post:)

Those were the goodies I picked up for Septembers Beauty Bay haul. Do you shop on Beauty Bay? What was the last beauty item you bought?

Inside My Scrapbook

hello everyone!

Over the past year or so I have taken a real interest in scrapbooking as I find it really relaxing and theraputic. I just love the idea of having all of my favourite memories in one place, and I absolutely love the good feeling you get whilst looking back at good times. Today I thought that I would share that feeling with you all and take you through some of my favourite pages in my scrapbook.

Starting off with the actual scrapbook itself; I got it from Paperchase quite some time ago so they don't actually sell this exact one anymore. It took me a while before I really got into scrapbooking which is why the book itself is so old. I actually added a strip of washi tape to the front cover because I love the design on the washi tape and I wanted to personalise it a little also. It's a really nice sized scrapbook and it's almost full so I will definitely be going back to Paperchase for my next book- they have a lovely selection!

The majority of the photos in my scrapbook were printed using the website Super Snaps. I absolutely love their prints as they are always high in quality and reasonably priced too. I have the 'Mini Square Snaps' in my scrapbook because they're the perfect size. I also have a couple of photos in there which are from when I was younger, so they're not from Super Snaps, but I think it adds a nice effect to the book:)

I am now going to show you some of my favourite pages and give you a bit of a backstory to them too.

I don't know about you but I love cats- they're just so adorable! I don't have any pets but the cats featured in my scrapbook are my Grandmas. I absolutely adore them and had to dedicate a section of my scrapbook to them:)

I love going to concerts and have done so for about 7 years. The first concert I ever went to was Justin Bieber all the way back in 2011. On this double spread page I have the tickets to some of the first concerts I went to including JLS, Bruno Mars and One Direction. I have pages further on, which I will get onto soon, individually dedicated to some of my most recent concerts too. I also want to quickly mention the wooden letter tiles which I have on some of my pages. I got them from Hobbycraft and think they just add something a bit extra to my scrapbook, they also have sticky circles already attached to the back which makes for a quick and easy application.

My scrapbook is full of lovely photos of my family and friends. I wanted to share a few of the pages with you because they contain a lot of lovely memories from my childhood all the way through to the present day. I also have some more family photos, from when I was a lot younger, later on to show you.

As I mentioned earlier, I do have a few pages in my scrapbook dedicated to some more recent concerts which I have attended. One of which being The Weeknd which I went to in March of last year. I had a great time and so I obviously wanted to document that in my scrapbook.

These have got to be two of my favourite pages- I just love how well colour co-ordinated everything is! On the left hand page I have a really cute hare watercolour painting which my sister did, and then on the right hand page I have some cute Polaroid pictures from when I was a baby as well as another baby photo of mine.

Back in 2015 I went on a trip to France with the school that I was attending at the time. I had a lovely time and it was also my first time abroad so there was no doubt that I would be including a double page spread of my France visit in my scrapbook. I have some photos from the trip as well as my theme park map and sea life centre ticket.

Staying on the travelling trend, in April of 2017 I went to Edinburgh. I had been to Edinburgh previously but that was many years ago when I was little so I really couldn't remember anything about it. We went to Edinburgh Zoo whilst we were there and I saw my favourite animals ever (meerkats!) and also did a spot of shopping in Harvey Nichols. I would definitely like to go back to Edinburgh because there is a lot more to see and since we were only there for the day we didn't get to explore as much as we would have liked to.

Last Summer I went to Fuerteventura for a week and I've obviously documented the holiday in my scrapbook! The first page of the double spread has my boarding passes stuck on and the second page has a collection of photos including everything from ice lollies to cocktails and the plane journey.

The most recent concert I've been to was Sam Smith, which was actually only a few months ago in March 2018. Just like my other concert pages I have done a double page spread which includes my concert ticket and some of my favourite photos from the concert.

The last pages I am going to talk about in this post is from my very recent holiday to Lanzarote. I had such a great time (if you want to see what I got up to then click here!) and couldn't wait to document it all once I had got back. I am going away again in October so that will definitely be getting added to my scrapbook as soon as I'm back.

So, that is my scrapbook. It’s not the most perfect scrapbook in the world but it is a collection of my best memories and for me that's good enough:) Do you have a scrapbook?
