Christmas Beauty & Makeup Collections 2015

Hello everyone!

I have actually already done a Christmas gift guide for beauty lovers and stocking filler ideas, but today I wanted to give you a little run down of some of the Christmas beauty and makeup collections this year. I am going to be sharing with you the collections I am most excited about and hope to find under my tree this year:) This is quite similar to the Christmas wish list post I did a few weeks ago but in this post I am going to be talking in depth about the different collections available this year.

I am going to be talking about drugstore and high end brands as I know people have different budgets and Charlotte Tilbury, for example, isn't the cheapest of brands.

Too Faced Christmas In Paris
Too Faced is one of those brands that has gorgeous packaging AND great quality makeup. I believe they have five different items in their Christmas range this year, ranging from £9.00 to £35.00.

They have a mini Better Than Sex mascara in a cute little ornament for £9.00, an absolute bargain if you are wanting to try out the mascara without purchasing the full sized version!

They also have a Melted Kisses and Sweet Cheeks set, which is something that I have been wanting ever since they unveiled their Christmas collection. In the set you get three deluxe Melted lipsticks and coordinating blushers all for £26.00.

The other set that I have had my eye on for a while is £35.00, and the most expensive in the whole collection. Of course I am talking about Le Grand Chateau set! The box is absolutely adorable, and opens up to reveal 3 separate palettes and 18 shadows, 2 blushers, 1 bronzer and a deluxe size of the Better Than Sex mascara.

Soap and Glory
I always look forward to seeing the Soap and Glory gift sets each year at Christmas as they are always designed really well. I am a big fan of Soap and Glory, especially their body sprays and Sugar Crush products. They also always design really nice stocking fillers, some of which I picked up this year. There are far too many sets to go through them all so I would suggest you head over to their website and have a look at what they have to offer!

Every year S&G come out with a cute little cracker. This year it is called the Kissmas Cracker, and you get a mini version of their Motherpucker lip gloss in it. Their lip glosses are really moisturising and are perfect for your handbag.

My favourite scent from S&G is Sugarcrush, and there is a set called The Zest A Girl Can Get. This set contains the Sugarcrush body wash, body buttercream and body spray. Plus you get a really cute rubber duck! The Sugarcrush scent smells exactly like coca cola, and I love it.

Soap and Glory makeup is great quality, I currently own two of their blushers and the Thick and Fast mascara. The most expensive gift set is something that they have brought out for a few years now. It is the Well I'll Be Glammed makeup set. You get some of their best selling products in this set as well as three brushes.

MAC Cosmetics Enchanted Eve
I always look forward to seeing what MAC bring out at Christmas as they always bring out really great sets. I love MAC and this year I want one of everything! They have lip and eye bags, brush bags, limited edition face palettes and so much more. The packaging is very sophisticated; a black clutch bag with turquoise, blue and pink accents. I have chosen a few of the sets to talk about in this post, but they have so many more to choose from:)

The first set that I am most excited for is the Enchanted Eve Eyes/Warm. I love warm shadows and I love MAC shadows, so this is the perfect combination. You get six warm shadows in this set that are perfect for a subtle smoky eye. You also get a brush to go with your shadows.

I love the idea of the Eye and Lip bags that MAC have to offer during Christmas. The lip bags are £34.00 (nude, red or pink) and the eye bags are £39.50 (neutral, smoky or plum). You can also get bags that have both eye and lip products in but they are £45.00. I would love to receive one of these at Christmas, and they are perfect for any makeup lover.

Benefit Cosmetics
Benefit always come out with colourful packaging that catches everyone's eye. The sets that are out this year are very similar to last years, but I'm not complaining!

The Real Cheeky Party set is along the same lines as last years, apart from last year you got 6 cheek products and this year they seem to have substituted that for a mini They're Real mascara and liner. This set is perfect if you want to try out the Benefit cheek products without buying all of them, as they are quite expensive. I love the Benefit blushers; my two favourites are Rockateur and Dandelion. In this set you get: Dandelion, Rockateur, Sugarbomb, Hoola, Coralista and the Watts Up! highlight.

The next Benefit set is a skincare set, and it is the Your B.right! To Party set (£39.50). They also have similar sets to this one that have makeup in them rather than skincare. I have tried the Benefit skincare before and I really liked it. You get a mini version of the Porefessional primer, a mini Instant Comeback facial serum, Triple Performing Facial Emulsion and It's Potent! eye cream. You get two full sized skin care pieces and two deluxe minis, and the set is worth £62.35!

As many of you know, I am a huge fan of Zoella and I was very excited to see that she would be bringing a limited edition Christmas range out this year. To be honest, I want everything that she has brought out because I know that the products will be fabulous! Her products are sold in Superdrug stores and online, and of course on

The most expensive item in the collection is £50.00 (it has now been reduced to £45.00!) and it is the Awesome Drawersome Bathing Collection. It is packed full of Zoella's most popular bath products and a cosmetics purse.

A lot of the products are also great as stocking fillers; especially the Mini Fizz Bar Trio and the Two Balmy Lip Balm Duo. I loved the original fizz bars that Zoella brought out, and the mini trio would be perfect for a stocking. The packaging is really cute and they smell really good too. As for the lip balms, I love a good lip balm in my stocking so this duo would be perfect to put in my stocking!

I must say, my favourite item has to be the Bath Bombinis Fragranced Bath Fizzers. I love bath bombs, and they come in a lovely glass jar that would look lovely on my dressing table. The bath bombs are floral scented, and they are delicately wrapped in rose gold foil.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I know it was a little bit longer than usual but I really wanted to share with you some of the awesome Christmas collections this year. I might even do a part two sharing with you some more Christmas collections. Let me know what collection you're most excited for!

Until next time,

Christmas Advent Calendars 2015!

Hello everyone!

Compared to last year, there are loads of beauty related advent calendars on sale this year. I feel like no one buys the traditional chocolate advent calendars anymore, with so many beauty and candle calendars on the market now. I am going to get straight into this post because I have lots of calendars to share with you:)

Yankee Candle Reindeer Carousel (£31.99)
Yankee Candle have three different advent calendars out this year, and the one I liked the most is also the most expensive. This has a range of votive and tea light candles, and there are 8 different Christmas scents included. It is a bit disappointing that there aren't 24 different scents, but that would be far too many for Yankee Candle to design each year. This would be perfect if you are a candle lover, and don't worry about what the candles will smell like as the Yankee Candle Christmas range always smells incredible!

Tanya Burr Deck The Hauls (£15.00 *WAS £25.00*)
Every time I have visited the Superdrug website the Tanya Burr Deck The Hauls advent calendar has been sold out, so I am not sure if it will be coming back any time soon. In this calendar you get 12 different items, rather than the traditional 24 or 25. I own one of the lip glosses from Tanya's collection and I really love it so I would love to be able to get my hands on this.

Charlotte Tilbury The Book of Makeup Magic (£150.00)
£150.00 is a little extreme for an advent calendar, but the Charlotte Tilbury beauty products are always really great quality. If you can justify to paying that amount of money for an advent calendar then I would definitely tell you to go for it because you really will love her products. It is definitely one of those 'princess brands' but you really won't regret it, who wouldn't want 12 of her best selling beauty products?!  The packaging is like a book and it is super cute too.

The Body Shop (£60.00)
I haven't actually been to The Body Shop in a little while, I only go around Christmas because they always bring out wonderful products. I love their hand creams, and this advent calendar would be perfect for someone like me that wants to try out more of their products. I actually heard somewhere that they have brought two calendars out this year to suit different budgets but I couldn't seem to find the other one.

Makeup Revolution (£25.00 *WAS £50.00*)
Makeup Revolution is a really affordable drugstore brand that is sold in Superdrug. You get 25 different products in this calendar, and for only £25 it is the perfect advent calendar if you're on a budget! Some of the other advent calendars I am going to be mentioning in this post have only 12 products in for six times the price! The calendar contains a range of products in shades that will suit most skin tones, so you don't have to worry about whether the shades with complement your skin tone.

Benefit Cosmetics (*THIS IS NOW SOLD OUT*)
From what I can remember, I am almost 100% sure that last year the Benefit advent calendar consisted of 24 different products. This year it only features 12, and I am not sure whether it is cheaper than last years calendar.

Lookfantastic (£70.00)
First of all, I just want to mention that this advent calendar is worth over £250.00! Out of all the calendars I have mentioned, this is definitely the one that is great value for money and definitely worth buying. It contains 25 different products, ranging from skincare to makeup. I would highly recommend you buy this calendar out of all the others I have talked about:)

No7 (£38.00)
I am a huge fan of No7 makeup; I use their foundation on a daily basis, and I have a number of their blushes too. You get 25 products in this advent calendar, 6 of which are full sized. There is definitely something for everyone in this calendar; body washes, mascaras, eyeshadows and much more!

LUSH Cosmetics (£49.95)
I absolutely love LUSH and this advent calendar is the best thing ever! I would have actually bought this advent calendar this year but I am getting the WOW! set for Christmas so I don't really need any more LUSH products to add to that! This is perfect for any bath lover, and would make a great gift too.

I am slightly disappointed that there isn't a MAC advent calendar, but there is still lots of great ones to choose from this year. Of course I couldn't include them all in this post so if your favourite brand hasn't been featured here then there is still a chance they have an advent calendar this year:)

Until next time,

Autumn Decor!

Hello everyone!

As the seasons change, so does the decor in my bedroom. Today I am going to be sharing with you some of my favourite Autumn/Winter decor pieces that will be in my room for the next few months.

The first thing that I have on my dressing table/desk is a box of tissues. In the warmer months I had some of the Superdrug Sweet Shop scented tissues, but they are too Summery to have all year round. I now have one of the Shades tissue cubes on my desk, and the one I have says 'wild at heart, happiest at home' and there is a hare on the side of the box too. These look really cute and fit in nicely with the Autumn theme I have going on at the moment.

Recently, everyone has been buying marquee letters. I really wanted an 'E' but they are all really expensive and far too big for my bedroom. However, when I was in Hobbycraft I spotted an E marquee light up letter and it isn't too big. I posted a picture of it on Instagram, and I have been obsessed with it since. It is made of cardboard but it looks really pretty when it is lit up,  and it wasn't too expensive either. You can find the E letter here, and they do the rest of the alphabet as well as hashtags, stars and hearts.

In Autumn, Starbucks always bring out the famous Pumpkin Spice Latte. This year, they have also designed really cute autumn inspired cups which have acorns, pumpkins and leaves on them. I think the design is really cute and I have actually re used the cup. I currently have all of my sharpies stored in it, and it is the perfect inexpensive pen/makeup brush holder.

Of course, in Autumn I bring out all of my fairy lights as it makes any room really cosy. I personally prefer battery powered ones so that I don't have to place them all near a plug socket. I have some rose ones wrapped around my lamp at the side of my bed and they look really pretty.

I also have a Reindeer Yankee Candle Votive Holder, and it in I have Christmas Cookie. It smells absolutely incredible and the holder is really festive.

The final thing that I have in my room in Autumn is a really cosy fluffy throw or blanket. I like to keep a fluffy blanket at the end of my bed so that in the colder nights I can wrap myself up and feel really cosy. I can't remember where mine is from but you can get white fluffy blankets from pretty much any home decor store.

Let me know how you decorate your room for Autumn and Winter:)

Until next time,
Emily xo

Bedside Table Beauty!

Hello everyone!

I am always interested to hear what people keep beside their beds, in particular what beauty products they like to keep beside them. Today I am going to be sharing with you everything that is beside my bed, and just to let you know it isn't organised whatsoever!

I love reading and I love makeup, so I have two beauty bloggers/YouTubers books beside my bed (Fleur De Force and Tanya Burr). I reach for these whenever I am looking for makeup tips, or I simply have a few minutes to spare and want to read something. I really love these books and they are great decorative pieces too. On top of the books I just have a lamp and then a little glass bowl with some of my favourite jewelry in.

I always like to keep a lip balm beside my bed so that whenever my lips are feeling dry I can give them a quick boost of hydration. I am a lip balm junkie so sometimes I have 4 and 5 lip balms on my dressing table. I am a big fan of the EOS lip balms and the Baby Lips ones too.

I also have a few hair ties and bobby pins as on a night time when I am lying in bed I often realise that I have bobby pins left in my hair so I just take them out and leave them on the side of my bed.
I like to keep a nice bottle of perfume beside my bed. My favourite at the moment is the One Direction Our Moment perfume.

Of course, I have some fairy lights on there too. I am not 100% sure where these lights were from but they might have been from Next Home. They are foam roses and are really pretty. They are also battery operated which I think is great because I don't have enough sockets in my room to plug these in too.

I love painting my toe nails, I am not allowed my nails painted for school but no one sees my toes so I can paint those:) I have been loving the No7 Stay Perfect nail varnish in Daisy Darling, it is a pink glittery shade. I also keep the GOSH Nail and Cuticle Oil beside my bed because it nourishes damaged nails and is not greasy at all.

I keep two staple skincare pieces beside my bed as well, but the rest of my skincare products are kept in my dressing table. I keep the Yes To Cucumbers eye cream and the Yes To Tomatoes moisturiser beside my bed so that I don't forget to apply them.

Whenever I am not using my ipod/phone/kindle I leave them to charge beside my bed. I like that I have sockets near my bed because then I can use my phone etc whilst they are charging. I also have my headphones beside my bed so that when I am watching YouTube videos late at night or if I am listening to music I don't have to search my whole room for a pair of headphones.

Let me know in the comments what you keep beside your bed, I would love to know!

Until next time,
Emily xo
