Top 5 Highlighters!

Hello everyone!

My favourite makeup products are definitely cheek products (highlighters, bronzers and blushers). I love changing up my cheek products each day, whether that is blush or highlighter. In this post I am going to be sharing with you my top 5 highlighters.

Benefit High Beam (£19.50)
Recently I have been getting into cream products a lot more, especially highlighters. I have had the Benefit High Beam for a while but I hesitated to use it for a while. I love this product as it is really creamy and just blends into the skin well. You can also set this with a highlighting powder, but I really don't see the need as it creates a really natural highlight. I like to apply this with my fingers, but you could use a beauty blender or brush. You can also use this under foundation to create a dewy glow; just mix a few drops with your foundation!

Au Naturale Highlighter Stick in Rose Gold (part of the Golden Goddess Collection- $59.00)
I haven't tried many products from this brand, but I was sent the Golden Goddess Collection a little while ago to test out. The product that I got on the most with was the highlighting stick. This is ideal for applying on top of the skin for a gorgeous summer glow. I love that it is not a straight up champagne shade like highlighters usually are. It does have a little bit of colour to it and this is why I am a big fan of the product.

Makeup Revolution Highlighting Palette (£8.00)
I decided to class this palette as three separate products as you are able to buy all three of the shades in this palette separately. If I had to choose a favourite out of the three I would have to choose the middle shade which is a light pink shade, the one to the left of this is a champagne shade and the one on the right is a lovely lilac shade. I would say that I use the centre shade the most, but I do still love all three! The highlighters are intensely pigmented, so you definitely do not need a lot of product. All three blend really well and create a gorgeous healthy glow.

I hope that you enjoyed this post! I will be back soon with my top 5 bronzers:)

Until next time,

Top 5 Pressed Powders!

Hello everyone!

In today's post I am going to be sharing with you my top 5 pressed powders. I don't change my powders often as once I have found ones that work for me I like to continuously use them.

B. Cosmetics Set Sheer Finish Pressed Powder (£7.99)
I do like this powder as it is not matte so it works really well with dewy finish foundations, but the shade I bought is too dark for me. I have looked on the Superdrug website multiple times and the light shade is always out of stock. I have still been using this powder and I have found that it is not too powdery like some pressed powders usually are, and it gives a nice natural finish to your foundation.

Rimmel Stay Matte (£3.99)
You all know this by now, this is my ALL TIME favourite powder! I love this powder as it is transparent so doesn't make me look orange. It sets my foundation in place nicely for the day ahead and I will continue to repurchase this. I have talked about this powder so much that I feel as if I don't need to talk about it too much, if you want a full in depth review of this then you can click here.

No7 Perfect Light Pressed Powder (£11.50)
Again, this is a translucent powder and has a very light formula to it. I like that it has a light formula as it does not cake up on the skin and doesn't feel really heavy as I have used a lot of powders in the past that feel very heavy on the skin. This powder would be great if it was a little cheaper, but I will repurchase as I am a big fan of it!

MUA Pro Matte Satin Pressed Powder (£2.50)
This is the cheapest pressed powder that I own and is still in my favourites. It really shows that it doesn't matter how much it costs; and powders that are £15 can be just as good as one that is £2.50. The packaging isn't as nice as some of the other powders, and you don't get a mirror either, but the powder itself works wonders! This powder offers a light coverage and leaves the skin fairly matte.

Collection Lasting Perfection Powder (£4.19)
The powder is soft and dusts on the face really well. I can remember when the packaging of this powder was very simple, but luckily that game has stepped up a bit now! This isn't my all time favourite powder but it does the job and I would recommend you give this a go if you haven't already.

Let me know if you are enjoying these blog posts, I will be back soon with my top 5 highlighters:)

Until next time,

Top 5 Concealers!

Hello everyone!

I am back and today I am going to be sharing with you my top 5 concealers. I don't use concealer to cover blemishes as much, as usually my foundation covers them, but I do use a lighter shade of concealer under my eyes to highlight them and make me look more awake.

No7 Instance Radiance Under Eye Concealer (£13.50)
I bought this concealer in a shade lighter than my usual foundation so that I can use it under my eyes to conceal any dark circles that I have. You only need a small amount of concealer and it really does make a difference. I wouldn't use this to conceal any blemishes as it would highlight them rather than conceal them, but I love it for under the eyes as it doesn't crease as a lot of other concealers tend to do.

Collection Lasting Perfection (£3.99)
This concealer is raved about so much by bloggers and vloggers. I was personally not a fan of this concealer at first, but I used it more and began to love it. This is a concealer that I like to use to conceal any blemishes or redness, rather than using it under the eyes. This concealer is quite thick but is fairly easy to blend.

Benefit Boi-ing (£17.50)
I don't actually own a full sized version of this concealer but I do have three different samples of it. You really don't need a lot of this concealer as it is very thick, and that is why I still don't need to buy the full sized concealer. For Christmas, my friend got me a mini duo which included this concealer and an under eye brightener and I have already got a lot of use from it. If you are going to use this concealer under the eyes, definitely blend it out well as it can crease if not blended fully.

Rimmel Wake Me Up (£5.49)
I find that this concealer works best to conceal redness especially around my nose. This is basically a lighter version of the Collection concealer that I mentioned earlier. This isn't drying, as I have found that some concealers can be on the dryer side. I do like to set this with a powder, as I do with any other concealer, as I find after a few hours it can go a little patchy. I have got quite oily skin so all concealers do this on me, so I wouldn't be put off by that.

Maybelline Age Rewind (£7.99)
This concealer is possibly the hardest makeup item that I have tried to buy. I have had this for a good few months now but it is such a great concealer that it is almost always sold out in my local Boots and Superdrug. Anyway, this concealer is specially designed for use under the eyes and it has to be my favourite under eye concealer. The only thing about this that I don't really like is the sponge as it means you are spreading bacteria around under your eyes. Apart from that I am definitely going to repurchase this as it has almost ran out. I would definitely recommend you try this concealer out over any of the others I have talked about, you will love it!

Until next time,

Top 5 Foundations!

Hello everyone!

As promised in my last post, I am continuing my 'top 5' series with my favourite foundations.

Rimmel Lasting Finish (£7.99)
This foundation comes in two different coverages; light/medium and medium/full. I have the medium/full coverage foundation and use it all most everyday. It gives a gorgeous dewy finish when not set with a matte powder, and doesn't look oily or cakey whatsoever. This foundation does claim to last 25 hours, but I can't say I have had it on for that long! The time that I usually wear it for (around 8 hours) lasts really well with hardly any top ups. Overall, it provides a good amount of coverage and lasts reasonably well.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation For Combination/Oily Skin (£12.99)
I am a big fan of this foundation, but I still hate the fact that it does not come with a pump. This means that a lot of product does get wasted and it can be very messy to use. Aside from that, the foundation for combination/oily skin is the perfect foundation for me. It leaves a natural medium coverage look, and with a little pressed powder lasts fairly well on me.

No7 Beautifully Matte (£13.50)
I have used this foundation for many years now, and it has remained a strong favourite of mine throughout that time. This foundation glides on the skin really well and is easy to blend. It offers a high coverage and lasts practically all day, that is the reason why I have continuously repurchased this for about 3 years!

This foundation is the same price as the Revlon Colorstay, and I personally prefer this one although I love them both. I have noticed that you definitely need to shake the bottle before using as it is a little bit of an oily formula. This foundation is the softest and lightest full coverage foundation I have EVER owned. You honestly can't feel the product on your skin, whether you go for a light coverage or full coverage. It blends really nicely and last well when paired with a pressed powder.

Korres Wild Rose CC Cream (£26.00)
This technically isn't a foundation, but a CC cream. I was sent this a few months ago and I got a lot of use from it in the Summer when I went to France for a week. This has SPF 30 in it, so great for when you go on holiday. It is a light coverage and I think it is perfect for the warmer months when you want to wear makeup but don't want a really heavy coverage foundation.

I hope you enjoyed this second installment of my top 5 series, I will be back soon with my top 5 concealers:)

Until next time,

Top 5 Primers!

Hello everyone!

When I first started my blog I did a 'Top 5...' series. Since then I have tried out many different products and I now have different favourites, so I thought that for the next few weeks I will share with you updated makeup favourites in the form of 'Top 5...' posts. I am going to do this series in the order that I would usually apply my makeup, and today I am starting off with primers.

B. Cosmetics Sweet Popping Candy Highlighting Serum (£14.99)
The first primer that is in my top 5 favourites is by B. Cosmetics which is sold in Superdrug. This product can be used under foundation as a primer, on its own or on top of foundation. I use this to prime my face as it gives a lovely healthy glow. The product is very light on the skin and hydrating too. I think that this is well worth the £15!

Benefit Porefessional Primer (£24.50)
Of course I would be mentioning the Benefit Porefessional! This is definitely my all time primer as it creates a smooth canvas for applying your foundation. Whenever I prime my face using this product I definitely notice that my foundation glides on a lot smoother. You can also wear this on top of foundation, but this is something that I personally wouldn't do.

Rimmel Stay Matte Primer (£5.99)
It is no secret that I am a huge fan of the Rimmel Stay Matte range, and so I HAD to include the primer that is the secret to my matte complexion. I get the most use from this primer in the Summer as that is when I want my makeup to look as matte as possible. This is great if you are looking for a matte base, especially in the warmer months.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer (£6.99)
I am a big fan of Rimmel, their base products especially. The other primer from them that I have been loving recently is the Lasting Finish primer. I use this with the matching foundation (expect to see that in my next post!) and I love the way that the two products work together. I do also use this with other foundations and they work fine with those too. It is a really creamy consistency, compared to the Stay Matte which is almost like a glue, but it still works really well on my skin.

Urban Decay Primer Potions
I got four samples of the Urban Decay primer potions with the Naked 3 palette which I bought over a year ago. I absolutely loved the formula of the primers, and they definitely did help my eye makeup last a lot longer than it usually would. I am going to be picking up the full sized version of this as I still haven't got round to it as I have been trying a lot of different eye primers. All of those that I have tried have not matched up to these ones though!

Let me know if you like these posts and I will be back soon with my top 5 foundations:)

Until next time,

Anna Saccone Zodiac Necklace

Hello everyone!

For my Birthday I got one of the Anna Saccone zodiac necklaces, unfortunately it didn't arrive in time to put in my 'What I Got For My Birthday' blog post so I said that I would do a blog post dedicated to it. There was a knock at the door this morning and I knew that it would be necklace, I am so excited to wear the necklace:)

Although it did take several weeks to arrive, I absolutely love the necklace. I got mine in silver so that it would match my Pandora jewellery. The quality of the necklace is really good, and you can buy your own from the Stilnest website here. The only thing I would say is that if you are buying this as a gift it might not arrive in time, mine didn't arrive in time for my birthday and I was very disappointed. But other than that I would definitely pick one up if you are looking to treat yourself!

I will end this post by sharing with you a few pictures of the necklace. I hope that you enjoyed this post and I will be back again soon.

What I Got For My Birthday 2016 + Beauty, Fashion and Stationery Haul!

Hello everyone!

It was my birthday on Monday and today I am going to be sharing with you what I got. It is always difficult having a birthday right after Christmas because I can never really find anything that I want. I did mostly receive money but I am going to share with you the presents that I was given. I am also going to include a few things that I bought for myself with Christmas money because I felt like there wasn't enough to do a separate post on.

My Birthday Presents...

River Island Black Winged Tote Handbag
I really wanted a new handbag for my birthday as the one I have at the moment is far too big and doesn't have a zip. I chose this bag from River Island as it the perfect size for an everyday handbag and it has a zip so I don't have to worry about my purse or phone getting stolen! This bag is cream and white, I absolutely love it. I will insert a picture so you can have a look at the bag, you can also find it on the River Island website here where it is currently £45.00.

Anna Saccone Zodiac Necklace (Capricorn!)
My all time favourite blogger has to be Anna Saccone. Of course I had to ask for one of her new Zodiac necklaces for my birthday. I am a Capricorn so I got the silver Capricorn necklace, I chose silver because my Pandora rings are silver so I wanted a necklace to match those. Unfortunately my necklace has not arrived yet but I will do a post dedicated to it very soon. I am going to leave links to the Capricorn necklaces in each material and you can also see the prices below:)

Capricorn necklace, silver (£54.00)
Capricorn necklace, rose gold (£64.00)
Capricorn necklace, gold (£64.00)

Smellies and other bits and bobs!
I also got a Soap & Glory Birthday gift set as well as a Beyonce miniature perfume set (I absolutely LOVE mini perfumes!) and a Soap & Glory body spray set. I also got a really cute cat cushion which I believe is from George @ Asda, you can find it here!

From my friends...
One of my friends got me a Soap & Glory Sugarcrush set, this is my absolute favourite scent from the brand and I will definitely get a lot of use from this.

My other friend got me a MAC lip liner in the shade Etcetera, along with a KIKO lipstick and lipgloss. I actually forgot to take pictures of the presents from my friends aswell, sorry!

And now for a mini haul...
New Look
I have really been lacking on pants recently so I decided to pick up three pairs of pants from New Look. The first pair are simple plain black disco leggings, which are basically thicker than normal leggings. These are just a little bit dressier than your typical leggings and they are super comfy too!

I also got two pairs of skinny jeans, also from New Look. The first pair are light blue ripped skinny jeans which were £24.99. I also got a pair of black skinny jeans, I always have to have black skinny jeans in my wardrobe! You can pair them with literally anything and they always look good.

Real Techniques
I wanted to finish off my collection of Real Techniques brushes so I bought the three brushes that I didn't own. I absolutely love Real Techniques brushes as they are super soft, 99% of my makeup brushes are from Real Techniques. The three brushes that I didn't own until now are the Sculpting Brush, Expert Face Brush and Stippling Brush.

If you know me then you will know that I love a good notebook! I love making lists and I like to keep a notebook for blog post ideas. I wanted the Erin Condren notebooks but they are ridiculously expensive for my budget, so I settled for two from I knew that I wanted personalised notebooks and the two that I found from Getting Personal were exactly what I was looking for.

Both of the notebooks are A4 lined, the first says 'Everyone Deserves To Sparkle' and it has my name at the bottom. The second says 'Emily's notebook' and has a really cute kitten on too. I will insert pictures of both notebooks. Each notebook was around £15.00 and I would really recommend you check out their website if you are looking for affordable personalised notebooks, they are great for gifts too.

I also wanted to share with you my birthday cake, it was a super cute pug cake from Asda which you can find here!

I hope you enjoyed this post and I will see you all soon:)

Until next time,

Beauty Wish List #3

Hello everyone!

I have done a few wish lists before and you all seemed to enjoy them, so today I am going to be doing another one. I did get quite a bit of money for Christmas and so there are a few things that I have wanted to pick up. I did do a wish list a good few months ago and I mentioned that I might start doing them monthly, which I never actually got round to doing. I will start doing them more regularly if it is something you would like to see:)

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (£22.00)
I currently have two NARS products on my list, the first is the Radiant Creamy Concealer. I think just about every blogger uses this in their makeup tutorials. I have ready many reviews on this concealer and 99% of them have been positive. I think I am definitely going to pick this up along with the next product as I am really excited to try it out and review.

NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation (£32.00)
The other NARS product that I have been wanting to try is fairly new on the foundation scene, and that is the All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. Again, lots of reviews on this foundation have been read by me and it just makes me want to buy it even more! It is said to be a full coverage foundation, something that I look for in every foundation, and is able to be built up in thin layers.

MAC Ellie Goulding Lipstick in Without Your Love (£17.00)
I have never bought anything from any of the MAC limited edition collections, but I am loving the look of the new Ellie Goulding collection! The shade Without Your Love is described as a 'warm seashell pink' and this just screams my name.

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette (£40.00)
I have seen so many pictures of this palette on Instagram and it just looks absolutely stunning. It has some neutral shades as well as a few vibrant shades. It It is mostly made up of shimmery shades but there are some matte shades. I would definitely be buying this if I didn't get a new MAC palette for Christmas!

YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in 01 Nude Beige (£26.00)
I have wanted this lipstick ever since I saw Anna Saccone wearing it. I always tend to go for a nude lip anyway and this would be the perfect lip shade for me. £26.00 is pretty expensive for a lipstick but these are loved so much by bloggers and I just have to try one out! First of all, the packaging is absolutely stunning and is something that I would display on my dresser. I have never actually tried any of these lipsticks but everyone says that the formula is really buttery and moisturising.

Zoeva Rose Gold Brush Set (£56.95)
I am a big fan of Real Techniques brushes but I really want to try out the Zoeva brushes. The rose gold set is absolutely stunning and I have seen so many bloggers using these brushes. You get 8 brushes in this set. They are actually really hard to get in the UK but you can buy them from Beauty Bay, the only problem is that they are ALWAYS sold out.

NYX Matte Lipsticks (£6.50 each)
NYX makeup has recently came to Boots stores in the UK. I haven't yet seen NYX in my local store but it is really easy to order online. I have heard a lot about their matte lipsticks, and as you probably all know I love a good matte lipstick. I am definitely going to pick a few of these up, let me know if you would like a review on them.

I hope that you enjoyed this post, I would love to know what is on your wish list:)

Until next time,
Emily xo

My 2015 Beauty Favourites!

Hello everyone!

2015 has flown by, it doesn't seem like two minutes since I did my 2014 favourites! I have been trying out SO many different beauty products (and non- beauty!) products this year, and I can't wait to share them all with you in one post. I am going to do a very quick roundup of last years products, and then I will get on with sharing this years favourites, and there is a lot!

Last years favourites...
  • Rimmel Stay Matte primer, foundation and powder- I am still loving all of these!
  • Benefit Boi-ing concealer
  • Rimmel Wonder'Full mascara
  • MAC lipsticks in Plink! and Snob
  • Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold
  • NYC Eyeshadow Quad in Best Of Broadway
  • Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer
  • Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
  • The Body Shop White Musk Libertine
I am still loving all of these items, I just don't use them all too often because I love discovering new products. I am definitely going to get them all out and use them more often though:)

Benefit Porefessional primer
You all know that I love a good primer, and the Benefit Porefessional has not let me down this year. I bought this in June, a whole 7 months ago, and have used it religiously. If you have not tried out this primer then I would 100% recommend it because it creates the perfect canvas for your makeup.

Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation
I have three foundations that I am going to be mentioning, and the Rimmel Lasting Finish is the first one I will talk about. Rimmel is the only brand that never lets me down when it comes to foundations, and I am still loving the Stay Matte that I mentioned in my 2014 favourites. The Lasting Finish foundation is a full coverage foundation that lasts pretty much all day, and I never use concealer as it covers everything that needs to be covered.

GOSH #Foundationdrops
I was sent this foundation around 4 months ago, and was not expecting it to be as good as it is. This foundation is super light and you can not feel it whatsoever. I use concealer with this foundation as it doesn't last as long as the Rimmel foundation, but it is a buildable medium coverage foundation that feels like velvet on your skin.

Revlon Colorstay foundation for oily/combination skin
I bought this foundation at the end of August as I have heard about it so much, but never actually tried it before. I love this foundation as it is full coverage and looks very natural. The only downside to this foundation is that it doesn't have a pump so I often find myself wasting a lot of product.

Benefit blushers in Rockateur and Dandelion
It will be no surprise to you that I have included my two Benefit boxed blushes, as I have raved about them so much. I love blushers and have a few more to share with you, but these are definitely my all time favourites. I got the Rockateur blush for my Birthday in January and bought the Dandelion blush around March. The Dandelion blush is a natural pink and the Rockateur is shimmery rose gold shade.

Sleek Rose Gold blush
I was very surprised that I did not mention this blush last year, so I am going to mention it now. I have been loving the Rose Gold blush the past 4 or 5 months as it is simply gorgeous! I used this all the time in both 2014 and this year, and I will continue to use it in 2016.

Sleek Face Form
I felt like I have had the Sleek Face Form for ages! I don't use the highlighter as much but I love the contour shade and blush. The contour shade is perfect for my skin tone and the blush is actually something I included in a post as a dupe for the MAC Peachykeen blush. For under £10.00 this is an absolute bargain and must have in anybody's makeup bag.

Maybelline Master Sculpt
At the beginning of the year I really wasn't into contouring. I then came across the Maybelline Master Sculpt and I have contoured every day without fail. I didn't realise how much of a difference contouring can make to the shape of your face and overall look of your makeup. This contour duo has been used and I will probably need to repurchase again soon. If you are new to contouring I would definitely recommend this duo as it is foolproof!

MAC blushers in Well Dressed, Peachykeen and Stay Pretty
I am a huge fan of MAC blushers, and I own three that I have used continuously over the past year or so. The first MAC blush I ever bought was Well Dressed, and this was purchased at the very beginning of the year. I chose Well Dressed as my first blush because it is a very subtle blue- based pink shade, you can build it up to have more of a colour pay off but I like that it gives a natural flush of colour to the cheeks. Peachykeen was the second MAC blush I bought, and this has a lot more shimmer in it. This is a sheertone shimmer blush, but I find it to be a lot more pigmented than Well Dressed. The other MAC blush I wanted to mention is in Stay Pretty, which is a deeper version of Well Dressed and is a Pro Longwear blush too.

MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study
I always apply an eye primer or base before I apply any shadows, and 9/10 times it is the MAC Bare Study paint pot. I have been wanting some more of these for a while but I have so many other eye bases that I have been putting it off. I sometimes wear this on its own, but it works great under shadows too.

Urban Decay Naked Smoky
This is something that I wasn't planning on buying, but when it came out in August I bought it straight away because I just couldn't wait. This is the fourth addition to the Naked palettes, and definitely my favourite. This has everything in it from mattes to shimmers and frosts, and it did not disappoint! It has a lot of darker shades in it, which is something that I wouldn't tend to lean for, but I have been experimenting a lot with different shadows in the past 5 months and have got a lot of use out of this palette.

MUA eyeshadow palettes
MUA is a great drugstore brand that is both cheap and good quality. They have brought out a few eyeshadow palettes in the past year, and I have been loving them. I own three of their palettes; Undressed, Spring Break and 5th Birthday. These palettes have 12 shadows in them and cost £4.00 each, an absolute bargain! I would definitely recommend you try out their shadows as they last really well and are very pigmented and buttery. You can pick these up from Superdrug, and I am sure they are bringing lots more out in the next year:)

Benefit They're Real mascara
I bought this in the duty free shop in June when I was on my way to France, and I haven't stopped talking about it ever since! I am yet to try the Rollerlash, but it is something I have heard very mixed reviews on so I am not sure whether it will be for me or not. The They're Real mascara, however, is definitely for me! I love everything about this mascara; the formula, the wand and the packaging. It only takes one coat of this mascara for my lashes to look very full and long. The only bad this about this is that it does take a lot of Garnier Micellar Water to take off this mascara, but at least it lasts ALL day.

MAC lipsticks in Brave, Angel, Lovelorn, Hue, Crème Cup and Flat Out Fabulous
I couldn't end my 2015 favourites without mentioning MAC lipsticks, and there are 6 I have used pretty much all year. 5 of these lipstick are nudes and pinks, but Flat Out Fabulous is something very different. If you want to hear about my MAC lipsticks (yes, there are more!) then you can check out a post I did in around September time, when I share with you my top 10 MAC lipsticks.

I hope you liked this post, let me know in the comments what you have been loving in 2015. I can't wait for all the new beauty releases in this coming year and I will of course continue blogging about what I love!

Until next time,
Emily xo
