MAC Cosmetics Warm Neutral Eyeshadow Palette | Review & Swatches

Hello everyone!

For Christmas I was given the MAC Warm Neutral palette, ever since I have been using the shadows whenever I have got the chance. I love warm shadows, and this palette is absolutely stunning! MAC shadows are my all time favourite eye shadows as they are pigmented, creamy and last really well, so this was the perfect addition to my collection:)

You can create endless looks with this palette as there is a range of matte and shimmery shadows. My favourite look to create with this palette is with Honey Lust (shimmer) all over the lid, Saddle (matte) in the crease and Dance In The Dark (matte) on the outer corner. I have been loving a shimmery base with matte contour recently and these are the three shades I have been using the most. I have also been loving Amber Lights, which is a gorgeous golden bronze shade.

I am going to leave you with swatches of all the shades...
L-R: Hey, Warm Breeze, Gingersnap, Dark Brew and Dance In The Dark

L-R: Brule, Vanilla Extract, Honey Lust, Amber Lights and Saddle

L-R: Lemon Tart, Creative Copper, Butterfudge, Divine Decadence and Unwind

Let me know if you have tried any MAC shadows, I would love to know what you thought!

Until next time,

Brands I Want To Try In 2016

Hello everyone!

I recently did a beauty wish list but I wanted to do a round up of the brands that I want to try this year too. I have seen so many amazing beauty brands that I just haven't got round to trying, so this year I am making it my mission to try as many as possible!

Charlotte Tilbury
Charlotte Tilbury is a brand that I have been so close to buying many times, but the products are just so expensive. I definitely want to try some of their products this year. The Luxury Palette in The Vintage Vamp is £38.00 and the shades are just absolutely stunning! The gold shade looks particularly pretty and I am definitely going to pick this palette up at some point in the year.

I have also seen a lot of the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks in blog posts, I would love to try Red Carpet Red and I am sure you can guess what shade that is!

I was so excited when I found out that NYX was being sold in Boots, I have wanted to try some of their products for ages but it was so hard to get hold of in the UK. There are so many products that I want to try so I am just going to name a few. The Powder Blushes have been on my list for a while and so have the Soft Matte Lip Creams.

Anastasia Beverly Hills
Anastasia Beverly Hills was raved about so much in 2015 and I just never got round to trying any of their products. I love a good contour kit and the Pro Series Contour Kit is something that I have wanted for a long time, but it is very expensive totaling at £39. I feel like every blogger has this palette and I NEED to try it out! I think 2016 will be the year that I take the splurge and buy this:)

The Balm
I have wanted to try products from The Balm for so long, and to be honest I don't know why I never got round to it. Obviously the Mary Lou Manizer is a very popular product but they also do amazing eye shadow palettes too. I like that the majority of their palettes are matte and therefore are suitable for everyday use.

The other brand that totally dominated 2015 was ColourPop. To be honest, I want every single product from the brand as they all look amazing! The LippieStix look amazing, the Ultra Matte Lip Glosses look amazing and so do all the shadows! The only problem is that they don't ship to the UK and therefore are really hard to find.

Until next time,

Top 10 Drugstore Products

Hello everyone!

I absolutely love treating myself to high end beauty products, but sometimes it's nice to save some money and have a little shopping spree in the drugstore instead. I have chose my top ten drugstore products and today I am going to be sharing those with you. I have chose hair, makeup and skincare products; and they are all from different brands so there is a nice selection of products in this post:)

Tangle Teezer (£10.99)
I have had my Tangle Teezer for about two years (I am going to buy a new one, don't worry!) and I have never used a 'normal' hairbrush since. I love that this has lots of fine plastic bristles as it gets out any knots in the hair without tugging. I use this when my hair is wet and when it is dry, and I love how soft it makes my hair feel!

Soap & Glory Peach Party Blush (£11.00)
I just HAD to include one of the Soap & Glory blush bricks in this post. I am a huge fan of Soap & Glory as a brand but their blush bricks are absolutely stunning. The Peach Party blush has lots of shimmer in it and is a gorgeous peach. I like to swirl my brush around as there are four different shades in this brick. This is obviously not for everyone as it has lots of shimmer in it, but if you like shimmer then you will like this too!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara (£6.99)
I obviously had to include a Rimmel mascara in this post, I love their mascaras. Rimmel has to be my all time favourite drugstore brand and their mascaras never let me down. I love the wand as the bristles are really thick and carry a lot of product. It is £6.99 and is probably the best mascara I have tried, what more could you want?!

GOSH #Foundation Drops (£12.99)
I have talked about this foundation a few times on my blog now, and I think that GOSH really deserves a lot more coverage in the blogging world. I love everything about this foundation; from the texture to the coverage. I would say that this is my favourite drugstore foundation as it is a really light formula but offers a buildable full coverage look.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (£9.99)
I decided to include just one brush in this post; and that is the Real Techniques Expert Face brush. I honestly think that if there is one Real Techniques makeup brush to buy, it is definitely this one. You can use this brush for foundation, concealer and powder. I also think that if you are travelling you could totally get away with using it for blush, bronzer and highlight too!

Collection Eyes Uncovered Nude Eyeshadow Palette (£3.99)
I have so many nude eye shadow palettes but this one from Collection is an absolute bargain! You get six different shades in this palette and all of the shadows have a buttery formula with decent colour pay off. The shades are really wearable and perfect for day or night.

Barry M Quick Dry Nail Varnishes (£3.99 each)
I don't have time to paint my nails often but when I do I like to use the Barry M Quick Dry nail varnishes. I have three different shades from the collection; In a Heart Beat, Full Throttle and Lap of Honour. These (as the name suggests!) dry really quickly, apply well and have lots of shades to choose from.

KIKO Intensely Lavish Lipstick in 05 Heavy Cherry (£6.90)
First of all, I would say that the name of this lipstick is very deceiving as 'cherry' suggests the shade would be red but it is not red at all. The formula itself is really creamy and the lipstick glides on the lips with ease. You can see in the image below that this is a gorgeous purple shade, and I wore it almost everyday in Winter.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in 02 Beige Trench (£7.99)
I had to include at least one nude lipstick in this post because they are my favourite shades to wear on my lips. Beige Trench is a pale beige shade and is perfect for everyday wear. The Bourjois lipsticks tend to last fairly well on my lips, but for the price they are great!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water For Combination and Sensitive Skin (£4.99)
The final item that I am going to mention today is the Garnier Micellar cleansing water. I use this to remove my makeup as it lifts out impurities and even gets rid of waterproof eye makeup. I buy a new bottle of this about once every 6 months because you only need a really small amount to remove your makeup.

I hope that you enjoyed this post. This was actually a collab with Kate, and you can click here to view her blog.

Top 5 Lipsticks

Hello everyone!

This is my final 'top 5...' post and of course I am going to be sharing my top 5 lipsticks. I have actually really enjoyed writing this series, and I have found lots of products that I completely forgot about. I have also included swatches of all 5 lipsticks at the end of this post:)

KIKO Intensely Lavish Lipstick in 05 Heavy Cherry (£6.90)
First of all, can we just take a moment to appreciate the stunning rose gold packaging?! Don't be fooled by the name of this lipstick, you would think it is a cherry red shade but it is something totally different. This lipstick is extremely pigmented and has a really glossy formulation. This is a perfect Autumn/Winter shade but I will definitely wear it all year round.

KIKO Smart Lipstick in 903 Candy Rose (£3.90)
The second KIKO lipstick in my top 5 is Candy Rose, which is a Smart Lipstick. I picked up four Smart Lipsticks and this gorgeous coral has to be my favourite. This is definitely the perfect Spring lipstick and I will get a lot of wear from this when it starts to warm up.

GOSH Velvet Touch Matte Lipstick in Antique (£6.99)
I love matte lipsticks and I love a nude lip, so this GOSH Velvet Touch lipstick is my ideal everyday lipstick. It is a dark nude shade and is matte, but not drying at all! You can see a swatch of this lipstick at the end of this post.

Rimmel Moisture Renew in 200 Latino (£6.49)
This lipstick has been in my collection for a long time now, although I don't wear it that often because I love trying out new lipsticks. I actually love the smell of these lipsticks, but it is something that not everyone will like. The Moisture Renew lipsticks in general glide on the lips really easily. Latino is a pink shade with some shimmer in it too.

MAC Creme Cup (£15.50)
If I had to choose just one MAC lipstick to choose out of my collection I would choose Creme Cup hands down because it is the perfect everyday nude pink shade. I especially love pairing this lipstick with a smokey eye. I love all of the MAC lipstick formulas but Cremesheen is definitely my favourite as the lipsticks are really moisturising.

I hope that you have enjoyed my 'top 5...' series, I certainly enjoyed writing it!

Until next time,

Top 5 Mascaras

Hello everyone!

If you know me then you will know that I have a ton of mascaras so it was difficult to choose just five to include. I finally managed to get it down to just five and I am pretty happy with the five that I chose. Keep reading to see what my top 5 mascaras are:)

Rimmel Wonder'Full (£7.99)
This has been one of my favourite mascaras for well over a year now, so I had to include it in this post! This mascara is really good for adding length to the lashes and is really light on the lashes as well as moisturising.

CODE VLM (£19.95)
I reviewed this mascara a little while ago along with the CODE FFL primer (read it here!) but to sum it up I was really impressed with this mascara. It makes my lashes look thick and voluminous. It is a little bit more expensive than the Benefit They're Real but I think it really is worth the splurge.

Rimmel Scandaleyes (£6.99)
I first discovered this mascara on the ferry to France last June. Of course, I did a bit of duty free shopping and came out with a set that had two Rimmel Scandaleyes mascaras in as well as the eyeliner. This mascara has a HUGE brush which really helps exaggerate the lashes. The product does tend to accumulate around the top of the brush which can be quite messy but it does wonders for my lashes so that isn't too much of a problem.

Benefit Bad Gal (£17.50 for the full sized)
I do not have the full sized Benefit Bad Gal mascara but I do have two miniature versions. I fell in love with this mascara as soon as I used it. To be honest when I got a sample of this a little while ago I wasn't expecting anything great, but I was totally wrong! The mascara really thickens my lashes and if you have sparse lashes then this is perfect for adding lots of volume.

Benefit They're Real (£19.50)
Last but certainly not least, the mascara that I raved about for the majority of 2015. I love that the mascara brush has bristles on the end which you can use to coat all of your lashes, especially those on the inner corner of your eye. Whilst it might be really difficult to remove, this will still remain a strong favourite of mine. I absolutely love this mascara and it makes my lashes look wonderful!

Join me on Wednesday for the final installment of my 'top 5...' series.

Until next time,

Top 5 Eyeshadows

Hello everyone!

Today I am going to share my top 5 eyeshadows, most of which are actually MAC because I absolutely love their eyeshadows.

Korres Sunflower & Evening Primrose Eyeshadow in 27 Golden Bronze (£12.00)
The first eyeshadow in my top 5 is from Korres and is a gorgeous shimmery golden shade. This eyeshadow is extremely pigmented and really buttery. I went through a phase in November and December where I wore this eyeshadow everyday. I don't wear it everyday now but I still love it just the same.

MAC Naked Lunch Pro Palette Refill Pan (£10.00)
A little while ago I created my own MAC palette which consisted of four eyeshadows, I have got tons more MAC shadows since then (3 out of 5 shadows in this post are MAC!) but Naked Lunch still remains a strong favourite of mine. It is a champagne shade and is perfect for wearing as an eyeshadow base or in the inner corner.

MAC Warm Neutrals Palette Shade 'Saddle' (Palette is £65.00)
For Christmas I got the MAC Warm Neutrals palette and I have been loving and using it every day since. If I had to choose my favourite shade I would say it had to be Saddle, which is a golden orange brown shade (matte). I love using matte shades in the crease with a shimmer on the lid, and MAC eyeshadows last really well without an eye primer too.

MAC Satin Taupe (£13.00)
The third, and final, MAC eyeshadow in this post is Satin Taupe. I actually forgot that I had this eyeshadow until I was looking through my collection to choose five of my favourites. It is a gorgeous brownish taupe and is great if you are going for a smokey eye look.

KIKO Infinity Eyeshadow in 244 Pearly Orchid Violet (£5.90)
This eyeshadow is a gorgeous purple shade, and the texture is very velvety. This blends really well and is the perfect eyeshadow if you want a subtle pop of colour on the lid. My favourite colour is purple so this does get a lot of use.

Until next time,

Top 5 Blushers!

Hello everyone!

Choosing five of my favourite blushers was also difficult as I have a ton of blushers! I finally gathered five of my favourites and I am going to share them with you now.

MAC Cosmetics Stay Pretty (£20.50)
It is no surprise that I would be including a MAC blush in this portion of my favourites. I didn't want to include three MAC blushes in this post so I had to choose just one, and I came to the conclusion that Stay Pretty was the one that I wanted to include. I have used this so much and I will continue to use it until it runs out. This is a Pro Longwear blush so it lasts a lot longer than the regular MAC blushes, and it is a gorgeous pink shade.

Sleek Creme To Powder in French Rose (£5.99)
I did a review on this blush a few months ago and it isn't something that I have talked about since, but that doesn't mean I haven't been loving it! I like to apply this using the Real Techniques Stippling Brush. It is a matte shade and sets to powder almost instantly, as I mentioned in my review when they first came out.

Soap & Glory Peach Party (£11.00)
I love the concept of the Soap & Glory blushers, lots of different shades in one wheel. You can swirl your brush around the shades to mix them all together, and that creates a gorgeous shimmery peach shade. I never used to be a fan of blushers with heavy glitter, but I have grown to love this. You get a lot of product in the compact and the packaging is very sturdy too.

Benefit Dandelion (£23.50)
This has to be my favourite everyday blush, it has minimal shimmer and isn't too vibrant whatsoever. It is a perfect light pink/peach shade and is something that is just right for everyday wear.

Benefit Rockateur (£23.50)
The final blush in my top 5 is also from Benefit, of course it is the Rockateur blush! This blush is a brownish rose gold shade and adds a gentle sun kissed look to the face. This is perfect for any pale girls out there (like me!) as it is a beautiful rose gold shade that adds a gentle bronze to the face at the same time. I am not a huge fan of the scent of this blusher, but I will dismiss that as I love the product!

Have you tried any of the blushers mentioned in this post? I would love to know your thoughts!

Until next time,
Emily xo
