Beauty Wish List #7

Hello everyone!

It has been AGES since I last shared with you what I have had my eye on beauty wise! So, today that's exactly what I am going to be doing:)

Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Diamond Dust:
I've seen the Laura Geller highlighters all over Instagram recently, and they immediately caught my eye. This one in particular looks really glowy and gorgeous. I will update you if I end up buying this, which I probably will!

Morphe 25B Bronzed Mocha Eye Shadow Palette:
I actually have never tried any of the Morphe palettes before (I know, absolute shocker!) but I have had my eye on this one ever since I spied it on Beauty Bay. I cannot believe that this palette is only £19, I honestly thought that Morphe palettes were way more expensive than that! This palette looks right up my alley; it's full of bronze and nude shades, which is what I tend to go for on an everyday basis.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette:
Urban Decay are adding to their line of Naked eye shadow palettes, and this one looks just as good as the others. This time the palette is full of warm toned eye shadows, all of which are absolutely stunning. I definitely need to get my hands on this palette because the shades are EXACTLY what I go for on a day to day basis, especially in the Autumn time.

Nip + Fab Makeup:
Nip + Fab has recently launched their products in Superdrug, and I am very keen to get my hands on some of them! The highlighting palette and the contouring palette look amazing, as does the foundation. I have heard a lot of great things about this brand and I have seen a few other bloggers talking about their products so I am really interested to see how they work for me. I probably will end up buying some of their products so expect reviews:)

Sleek Distorted Dreams Highlighting Palette:
I was browsing the Boots 'new in' page when I came across this beautiful Sleek highlighting palette. I have never seen this on any blogs or social media pages before, so I had absolutely no idea that Sleek were even releasing new products. I have really been in to my highlighters at the minute (I've been loving a good glowy makeup look!) and I feel like this palette has everything you ever need in terms of highlighters. Why hasn't this palette been talked about as much as new releases usually are?!

Morphe Brushes:
I recently purchased a Morphe brush set and I am OBSESSED with them! The bristles are so soft and they apply my makeup beautifully, so I obviously want to purchase a few more:) I have been using Real Techniques brushes for as long as I can remember but it's always nice to have a change, and I desperately want to get my hands on some more of the Morphe brushes and build up my collection.

So, that is everything I have had my eyes on recently! Let me know if you have tried any of these products and also let me know what is on your makeup wish list:)

Until next time,

Kat Von D Lock It Foundation & Setting Powder | Review

Hello everyone!

After seeing Zoella use the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation in a makeup tutorial I knew that I just had to pick one up and try it for myself. I always trust her reviews and I was amazed when I saw it in action in her video! I purchased the shade Light 42 Neutral and I also bought the Loose Setting Powder in Translucent, so I am going to be reviewing those today.

As I mentioned earlier, I picked up the shade Light 42 Neutral after swatching a few shades in Debenhams. I was really impressed with how extensive the shade range was; and I had no doubt that I would be able to find my perfect match.

The foundation itself retails for £27.00 and the powder is £22.00, which I don't think is too bad considering it's a high quality brand.

I like to apply my foundation with a damp Real Techniques sponge and I find that it gives the fullest coverage, as I did apply it with a brush to see which one would apply the foundation best. I was actually going to purchase the matching concealer but the foundation is such a good coverage and, in my opinion, I really don't need the concealer as well as the foundation. I also loved that the foundation settled down to an almost powdery looking matte finish, meaning that there's no chance of transfer.

The other product I am going to be talking about today is the Setting Powder, which I am also obsessed with! First of all, I love the star shaped sifter! This powder is really fine and weightless when applied to the skin, which is great because I hate when powder is really heavy and cakey feeling on the skin. I find that it sets my makeup in place to last all day but it also mattifies and blurs the skin at the same time.

Overall I am loving my two new Kat Von D purchases! Let me know in the comments what products you have tried from Kat Von D:)

How I Wash My Makeup Brushes

Hello everyone!

In today's blog post I am going to be sharing with you how I wash my makeup brushes (and sponges!) and which products clean them the best. I am so lazy when it comes to cleaning my makeup brushes, it seems to take absolutely ages, but I always notice that when they're clean my makeup applies a lot better!

I start off by gathering all of my brushes together and lying them out on a clean towel. One by one, I wash them with some cheap face wash. Today I used the Tea Tree face wash from Superdrug. Once my brushes are fairly clean I swirl them around in the NYX Brush Cleaner and then rinse them off, and this leaves them looking and smelling fresh.

I like to leave my brushes to air dry on a towel because that allows them to return to their original shape.

I hope that you enjoyed this blog post. Leave a comment and let me know if you want me to do a blog post on my everyday makeup brushes and tools:)

Currently Loving #7

Hello everyone!

I am back after what seems like FOREVER! I took a 4 month break from blogging, and in that time I have been trying out lots of new products. I thought that rather than doing separate reviews for each item, I would put together a 'currently loving' post instead:)

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Highlight Palette (£59.00):
I was debating for a good few months as to whether I should purchase this highlighting palette, but I did it and I don't regret it whatsoever! I have been using this highlighting palette everyday and it gives a gorgeous glow to the face. My favourite shade is the centre shade, which is called Incandescent Light, but I have been using and loving all three shades. I am gutted that I accidentally dented the shade Dim Light but these things are sent to try us I suppose!

Jeffree Star X Manny Mua Velour Liquid Lipstick in Daddy (£16.00):
My current favourite lipstick that I have been wearing religiously for the past 3 month or so is the Jeffree Star X Manny Mua collab in the shade Daddy. I love this lipstick for everyday wear as its really lightweight and comfortable to wear, without being drying. The shade is a gorgeous matte cool toned dark brown, and goes with every makeup look! I think that this shade really compliments my skin tone and is a staple in my makeup bag. I find that I have been leaning towards this shade type for quite a while now because of the fact they go well with my skin tone.

Super Snaps (formerly known as square snaps!) Mini Square Prints:
In my four month break I have been doing a bit of scrap booking. I like to keep all my pictures the same size, so I have been using a website called Super Snaps to order them in bulk. You can choose from a matte or glossy finish (I went with the glossy!) and the pictures turn out looking really high quality. I highly recommend this website as the prints always arrive really quickly and aren't too badly priced either. I am going to insert some pictures of my favourite scrapbook pages as well as one of my favourite photos, but I can do a full blog post on my scrapbook if you would like that:)

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Foundation (£7.99):
In this post I want to share with you two products which I have recently rediscovered, the first is the Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation. I used to love this foundation for everyday wear as it is really light on the skin but it also has great coverage, and I repurchased a bottle a few weeks ago. I love trying out new foundations but I also like to have a few trusty ones which I can always rely on, and this is definitely one of those!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (£4.19):
The second rediscovered product I am going to feature in this post is the Collection LP concealer. Can we just talk about the new package redesign?! The old packaging felt really cheap but the new packaging feels really sturdy and a lot more expensive than £4.19! I have been a fan of this concealer for a long time now; it covers dark under eye circles really well.

Collection Eyes Uncovered Nude Bronze Palette (£3.99):
Another product I have been loving from Collection, but this time a new one, is the Nude Bronze palette. I have had the nude version of this palette for a long time now but I wanted to try this version as I love the original nude one. The shadows are really pigmented and blend out nicely. I am going to be taking this on holiday with me because it gets the job done, and for under £4 I think that it's great.

Holika Holika Juicy Face Mask Sheets (£2.00 each):
The final products I have been loving over the past few months are Korean face masks, from the brand Holika Holika. I have been loving these sheet masks as they leave my skin feeling really refreshed and replenished. They come in a whole variety of scents and they're £2 each, an absolute bargain!

I hope that you enjoyed this blog post, I know that it has been a while since I last posted! Let me know in the comments what your favourite products are at the moment:)

Until next time,
Emily xo
